I agree that these are meant to awaken us, but I believe that society is too far past the point of being brought back from this evil entirely.
We can reach the unbeliever individually or small groups, but as a whole the world is just going to continue becoming more evil and corrupt and ungodly.
I think that the only reason that God has not brought judgement is because He is merciful and awaiting the last, lost sheep to return to Him.
English

@UnhingedMuppets @MikeWingerii No mate, these are out to awaken us. We are like the titans, we are in slumber, unwilling to fight for what's right. But one day, like Eren we will wonder what price we must pay to END the torture of our people.
English

@VividProwess I look forward to it - it most likely won't happen until the Millenium, though.
I just don't have the patience or finances to jump through the hoops - passport, visa, money for travel, food or lodgings.
I can wait until Jesus is ruling. :-)
English

Yes.
It is evil and monstrous and the number one reason that pro choice people refuse to acknowledge what is being done to another human being and dehumanize the living being in the mother's womb.
:shrug: They will not watch this and insist on their intentional ignorance.
Much in the same way that cowardly Greta Thunberg and her band of wackadoodles refused to watch the videos that Hamas themselves recorded of their atrocities on October 7th.

@farmingandJesus 💯
I put these people in the same category that scream about a secular Israel's ungodliness but refuse to acknowledge the rest of the secular world's ungodliness.
English

@PopulusAlb98772 @sbrad @SonofManwithus Fair enough 🙂
I appreciate your civility and hope that I have come across the same.
English

@UnhingedMuppets @sbrad @SonofManwithus You are grounded in your faith and that's what i am saying. There's no point to discuss. It's just based on a true story... and yes god told me so. See where this becomes problematic? It doesn't matter if i am for or if i am against (even though i am not).
English

@PopulusAlb98772 @sbrad @SonofManwithus Okay?
I think that you are doubtful that my faith and belief in Jesus, the Gospels and the Bible is either rational or genuine?
If so, that is fine.
I know what I believe, why I believe it and am not just childishly declaring "Because God says so."
English

@UnhingedMuppets @sbrad @SonofManwithus If the Church is false then Peter is false, It has been ground work for why you get to read the book. I won't keep you from your faith, you have become that rock yourself anyway. It's all fine until you write yourself a leading position in your new theater play.

:smiling: Thank you.
I do too, but doing so over chat sometimes begins to frustrate me - I can't see facial expressions or hear tones of voice; I don't have cues to know if the discussion is still civil and rhetorical.
I know myself well enough to know that it is best to hear the other person out and explain my position with respect but stop at the point where we begin to circle the same points.
May He continue to bless and watch over you and yours, sir.
I look forward to meeting you once we are with Him.
We can chat over a cup of coffee - I like to think that there will be outdoor cafes.

Explanation about the 70th week of Daniel.
In the book of Daniel we read a remarkable prophecy, 'the revelation concerning the seventy weeks' (Daniel 9). Here we are dealing with a clearly 'fixed period of time', the beginning of which is relatively easy to determine. A week consists of 7 units. We usually speak of seven days. But you can also choose another unit, as the Lord God has done here. The unit is now not a day but a year, we also speak of weeks of years. So we get a period of 7 times 70 weeks of years is 490 years.
We can place these weeks of years somewhere on the line of history, but where? They can be included with the dates in our history books, but with which ones? A fascinating passage of the Bible.
PURPOSE
Why does the Lord God speak through Daniel about this period and especially: what is God's purpose with this time? We read that from Daniel 9:24 'Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy'.
The word 'for' stands out. This word indicates the purpose for which that period of 70 weeks of years has been determined and is important. In that period of 490 years the Lord God will tackle things in a fundamental way. What is also striking is the completeness of that approach. The things that God wants to do in that period of 490 years are not left half-finished, as sometimes happens with our efforts. The Lord God completes His work, He finishes things. For example, we see, and how wonderful that is, that transgression and sin will be brought to an end, it is finished, reconciled. In addition, we see how 'everlasting righteousness' is brought. Aren't those wonderful things? Today we still live in a time when sin and unrighteousness destroy people's lives. Today we see how much unrighteousness still goes on in the world and also that there is little and seemingly less justice found. The Lord God promises to change that and in that period of 490 years. We may look forward to the fulfillment of that word. Is that something for us?
DANIEL PROPHETS OF JESUS
Daniel was an exile, as a young boy he was taken into exile with others to Babylon. The Lord God prophesies about that situation and what will happen to the people of Daniel. So it is not about the church or the world powers but about God's people, about Israel. Daniel prophesies about the downfall of Babylon. It was Cyrus or Kores, as we know him from the Bible, who as a new ruler began to reorganize the Persian-Median empire, that was the new empire that became superior after Babylon. He divided the empire into provinces with their own governor (called satrap). The different peoples were encouraged to preserve their own culture and religion and it is in that context that the Jews were allowed to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple. These things take shape under the prophets Ezra and Nehemiah. After a period of 7 and 62 weeks of years (Daei 9:25) an anointed one will be cut off. We are now about 483 years (69 x 7 year-weeks) further and are at the beginning of our era. It is not difficult to recognize the Lord Jesus in the description of verse 26. He is the Messiah of God, which means the Anointed One of God. Messiah = Christ = Anointed One). We also know what kind of play was performed and how rigged everything was around His trial. There was nothing against Him, yet He was exterminated, crucified. Isn't it breathtaking to realize: all this was prophesied by Daniel, while he had lived many hundreds of years earlier. Yes, God's Word is certain and certain.

@BobCornPop @TheBelieverJC @c_cennen97 I honestly think that we are both getting lost in the weeds about how we are interpreting these parts of scripture and applying them to our understanding of His Word, Bob.
I would suggest agreeing to disagree, if that is okay with you.
English

@TheBelieverJC @UnhingedMuppets @c_cennen97 "And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off...."
True. He was cut off in the middle of the 70th week. Which is after the 69th week. He confirmed the Everlasting covenant for many during the 70th week. After which the Gospel message went to the whole world!
English

@PopulusAlb98772 @sbrad @SonofManwithus I apologize - up to this point I thought that I understood our discussion.
What do you mean?
English

@UnhingedMuppets @sbrad @SonofManwithus I cannot prove or disprove i have a reason.. Why not just ask Jesus? Or the holy spirit?
English

@BobCornPop @TheBelieverJC @c_cennen97 Okay.
I disagree, but I just simply believe otherwise.
Personally this is fine - brothers in Christ are allowed to not agree on non doctrinal issues.
I appreciate the civil discussion, sir.
English

@UnhingedMuppets @TheBelieverJC @c_cennen97 There is no unresolved bit. The 70th week came after the 69th week. The prophecy ran its course just as it was given to Daniel.
English

@LifeNewsHQ No. Wrong is not the right word.
This is evil.
English

:smiling: I think you misunderstand what I believe, sir.
I do not believe that Peter is the church on whom the Church was built on.
I am not a Catholic and I do not believe that the teaching of the HRCC are Biblical.
Peter was not a "pope" nor was he a celibate.
He was a married man and simply a man.
He was also forgiven for his cowardice by Jesus Himself and later went on to die a martyr for his unshakeable faith.
English

@UnhingedMuppets @sbrad @SonofManwithus Much like me in that first part yet a different conclusion. And church... Peter was a coward. How can you respect that as a foundation? The pope recently said something using religion for their gain. Talking about bloody hands while their foundation is soaked to the core.
English

Yes, it does.
There is still the problem of the unresolved bit of the final week prophecy.
I sincerely understand what you are saying, sir.
From your point of view this giant 2000 year gap is very problematic.
I take the position that Our God can stop his timeclock anytime that He wants to.
To support my view, I refer to Luke 4:16-21.
Jesus reads from Isaiah 61:1–2
He reads this verse up until "...the year of the Lord's favor" and then stops.
The remainder of Isaiah's prophecy "...and the day of vengeance of our God,to comfort all who mourn..." is still outstanding.
English

TLDR; Should I ever be in that situation I trust that Our God will enable to me to stand strong in Him and not fear anything the World can do to me.
Longer version with disclaimer:
Please do not think that I am bragging, being a Walter Mitty or declaring that I am Rambo.
I have never been in that specific situation, but I have faced the threat of imminent death calmly in the past.
Conversely, I have also been ashamed of my belief in Jesus and the Bible in the past, also.
I pray, with humbleness and humility that Our God will strengthen me and enable me to stand resolute and bravely.
English

Okay.
I disagree.
I simply do not understand how you can hold that one part of Daniel's prophecy is literal - from the time that the word goes out to rebuild Jerusalem to the time the Messiah is cut off - but then factor in the last week of seven years as not being literal and also ignoring the entirety of the prophesies' of the last week.
Jesus was 'cut-off' in either AD 30 or AD 33; then there was a period of either 40 or 37 years until the Temple was destroyed by the Romans.
Now, you may consider that the Temple was destroyed when the curtain of the Holy of Holies was torn - but that was by God, not by Romans or any other human agency.
We also have never had the Antichrist desecrating the Temple by ending sacrifice and he declaring himself little 'g' god - which is what the Abomination that causes Desolation is.
The Abomination is a repeat of Antiochus Epiphanes desecration which happened circa BC 167
English

@UnhingedMuppets @TheBelieverJC @c_cennen97 The lengths of time specified in Revelation were foretelling the antichrist beast popes 1260 reign in Rome from 538 to 1798. There is nothing that connects them to Daniel 9.24-27. What is illogical is inserting a 2000 year time gap in Daniel's 70 weeks. It's not in there.
