I kissed her goodbye as I walked out the door. It was 7am. She had just woken up. Twelve hours later, I kissed her goodnight just after I got home. It was her bedtime. My daughter was 3 months old, and this was our daily routine. I left early for work every day, rode the train for an hour to work, worked an 8–9 hour day, and rode the train back for an hour. @DerekrRJoseph @Ameen_HGA On a macro level yes, especially within secular school system, and I agree with your statement on interpretations and applications. But again, what is in the interpretations and applications of this book that doesn’t align with a Christian take on reality? I used to be with AIA

@Uszynski32 @Ameen_HGA When I read the book I was expecting raw data. raw data isn’t woke. interpretations and applications of it can be. Do you think academic social sciences haven’t been basically controlled by Theory proponents? Btw- I was Cru staff 01-10. You with AIA?

Some people want to live in an echo chamber where they only read or reference people that they agree with 100%. Maybe they’re afraid they’ll be weakened by contradicting ideas. I refuse to live in such a small world. Read widely. Think critically. Live charitably.

Tim Keller exposed my political and cultural idolatry and how terribly reductionistic my political positions are and called me to something higher and more biblically and intellectually integral. Therefore, he is a woke leftist communist that was unfaithful to The Bible

He took those positions because he thought the alternatives were foolish…

@Ameen_HGA @megbasham Tell me you are progressive without telling me. Keller’s mission field was progressive urban ppl. The way he reached them is what conservatives have always known. It was not hidden, while he tried.

This is a classic example of begging the question. It assumes that this is what the debate over Keller centers on. Political idolatry and reductionist political positions. But of course, those of us who are now interrogating Keller’s third way do not believe that this is the substance of the debate. I would say, the substance of the debate is whether Keller’s evangelistic approach that hinged upon Christians disassociating their political positions from their faith truly drew the lost to Christ in the way he believed it would. Also, could Christians legitimately arrive at support for either political party based on their understanding of scripture the way Keller argued they could? To both of those things, I would say, no.

@DerekrRJoseph @Ameen_HGA That’s not answering the question. It’s largely a book of research and conclusions drawn by that research. What make it “woke” for you?
