I don't care how hot the market is, I just don't understand how sellers on TCGPlayer expect buyers to see a card sell for $10 literally yesterday and then buy it for either 3x or nearly 9x the following day. It's like this with every other card on there in LP or NM condition, sellers just listing things widely above last sold. The platform itself subtlety encourages this behavior by not allowing offers, since by definition the larger the sale, the more TCGPlayer nets for themselves. And for the people who are about to comment "Yesterday's price is not today's price" I was going to make this post yesterday with the same card and comps, which would make it even more on the nose.

🧵FUCK IT, Announcement Thread 5 years ago, today, my Mom passed away. She had been battling cancer off and on for 10+ years. She was in a really good health streak, made Christmas dinner in 2018 with some mild pain, but didn't make it to May 2019. It was a fast and furious 3+ months, but she left me inspired and motivated beyond belief. Today, I want to honor her by stepping out of my comfort zone and making public what I have been working on for the last ten months. I am publicly announcing my company VALTE (@valte_io). VALTE will be one of the first apps developed for a web2 user, but built on chain. We are not identifying anything as an NFT, wallet, crypto or blockchain. Instead, we are giving the user all the benefits that the blockchain but calling them digital goods and currency. VALTE has been an idea for 18+ months and we have been working on it for about 10. VALTE, at launch, will be a new experience for COLLECTORS of Sneakers, Watches and Card (Sport & TCG). We will be the custodian of the assets and digitize them for the end user to display, trade, sell, commoditize or transact however they desire. Second, VALTE is a social app and we have a very engaging social experience that we anticipate will be the core loop for collectors, comparatively to the time spent on instagram, discord or facebook. This week we have begun our pre-seed raise for the company to launch the app and build out the warehouse. We already have a prototype of the app to demo (sneak peak below) and have a solid three year financial plan/budget. Candidly, this is my first time raising a financial round and any all help from my web3 family is appreciated. We are also actively looking for a developer founder and passionate, business savvy investors interested in being an advisor. @TheAxieMaster Because of regulations for then fund, you will need to be a “qualified client” to invest. If you meet those requirements our minimum investment is $200k.
