People should be livid about the Ford government using the notwithstanding clause. This allows a government to override the constitution - allowing them to do something that otherwise would be illegal. The clause has been used 7 times outside of Quebec. 3 by Ford. 1/4

They are sending a message to us all - do what we say or we'll force you to bend to our will. This is not the sort of thing you'd expect in a vibrant democracy. Then again, only 43.53% of those eligible to vote showed up and voted. We are in serious trouble in Ontario. 4/4
