On this day in 1984: The 2 Merseyside clubs met at Wembley as Liverpool went for a 3rd consecutive League Cup against Howard Kendall’s resurgent Everton. The game itself finished 0-0 but not without controversy Referee, Alan Robinson missing this handball from Alan Hansen.

This is MMA fighter Sean McInnes. When Anne Marie Boyle asked him to leave her alone, he punched her in the face so hard that he broke her cheekbone and her eye socket, knocked her unconscious, and left her with a life-altering brain injury. He was given less than two years behind bars. It would be a real shame if this post was widely circulated and impacted his career in a negative way.

@Britpopmemories @thebandbis @mandarin Oh yes, a refreshing change after listening to Oasis, Bluetones, Shed 7, Cast, etc, from 94 - 96...their music was fun, didn't take themselves too seriously, and were never going to be commercially successful...a breath of fresh air at the time in a similar vein to Kenickie.

Happy 30th birthday to “The Secret Vampire Soundtrack” by Bis. Probably their best known release because of the track “Kandy Pop”. Who bought a copy?

@anon_opin The Damned, The Clash, Sex Pistols etc still sound good to this day.

Trip hop has aged incredibly well. Portishead, Tricky and Massive Attack sound great today. Name any other niche time specific genre that doesn't sound embarrassing and clunky 20 or 30 years after its heyday.

He tried to explain he'd been at his desk since 7. I interrupted and told him accuracy matters more than intent. I emailed his reviewer suggesting he take a CLE on time management. He apologized later. I didn't reply. I forwarded the apology to HR as proof of his inefficiency. Greetings are risky. He learned an important lesson. Never speak to a partner in the elevator. Unless spoken to.

@BabaYoungblood I struggle often with American bands, like a lot of them don't translate to me lyrically...but faves include: Shocking Blue - At Home With Sleater-Kinney - No Cities to Love Nirvana - Live at Reading The Doors - The Doors. But I could include all albums by those artists.

@80s90sfootball England v Holland schoolboys, Fellows Park, Walsall, around 1982ish. First professional match was the Milk Cup Semi Final, Walsall v Liverpool at Anfield. What an experience for a 9 year old from Walsall, those brutalist floodlights on the old Kemlyn Road stand...😲
