@yea_karen53 @sappholives83 Prior to this patriarchal grift, rebranding gender as 'identity', sexualised cross dressing was uncontroversially recognised as a red flag. Those of us not in the thrall of this misogyny know it still is.

I worked a case once in which a man accidentally hanged himself as he engaged in autoerotic asphyxiation while dressed in his wife’s lingerie. During the investigation, we came across a website where he’d posted detailed stories about transforming into her, then hanging her and taking her place. He was using himself as a stand in for her while he masturbated and fantasized about killing her.

@AnnaRMatson I've heard plenty of complaints about WIC. I've even covered baby food for WIC users in front of me because only some flavors were covered because they forgot to include them. It just isn't a hot topic in the media.

I’m hearing a lot of complaints about SNAP restrictions, but how come no one bats an eye over WIC restrictions? WIC is also a USDA funded supplemental nutrition program, but instead of being for every low income individual, it’s for women, infants, and children. These are some of the most vulnerable people and should have MORE resources than SNAP provides. But again, no one complains over their very strict guidelines. So instead of asking if states should put restrictions on SNAP, ask why there were not restrictions in the first place…

Today our founder is quoted in @thetimes as they reveal 170 single men have applied for surrogacy parental orders since 2019. We want to see surrogacy banned for everyone, but the growth of single men pursuing surrogacy should alarm us all. @SanMan1978

@Liberty_Xtreme @WrenWilliamsVA I'd be very curious to talk strategy with a lawyer because we need to brace for ever-increasing taxes (including "fees") and I imagine the county level is where we can mass resistance.

@XPhrone @NatalieLShorter You’re looking at this quite selectively - instead, perhaps recognize that Black women in Virginia, both political leaders and rank-and-file voters, drove a resounding victory for TEMPORARY redistricting to balance the unconstitutional power grab by republicans.

If you are a female doctor or PhD, you can claim discovery of any part of the clitoris that was discovered hundreds of years ago and the press will credit you. This is a great opportunity for narcissists everywhere! Who wants to get famous for mapping the blood vessels in the clitoris for the first time?

The reason that I point this out is that we have a process issue with how we report election data. If my bank sends me a "preliminary" statement report showing I spent $1200 last month in the summary, I can expect to be able to flip to further in the report and see the associated transactions ... which should add up to $1200. That self consistency in the reporting breeds trust. While there might be errors or corrections in between reports ... or adjustments to a "final" report ... we would expect that within any given report the numbers should be self-consistent. We should expect the same with election data. However, within the same "report" (an update to the web page and associated json), the Dept of Elections is showing two different completely sets of numbers that don't add up. They are also logically inconsistent: The summary numbers are often considered the authoritative (yet uncertified) counts, which must logically be a summation of the counts from within the locality. Yet it is often the intra-locality information that is missing or incomplete in the reporting ... a citizen is reasonably justified in wondering how can the summary be reported before the local information is collected? If there was some data lag in computing the summation or collecting the local counts, than one would expect that the summary count would, if anything, *lag* the local count information. But what we find is the opposite ... the summary data often has more counts than the sum of the reported locality information. This opaque process actively degrades the ability for the public to trust in elections, and inhibits transparency and accuracy.

@CedraCrenshaw If you don't want to pay school property taxes I'm okay with that as long as you agree to the following- your own tax payer funded education (if you went to public school)is now void. You also can only rely on the goods/services provided/developed by home or private school alum.

Politician: I'll give you the $14,000 that would have been spent on your child in public school Homeschooler: It doesn't cost $14,000 to homeschool a child. Many families spend less than $1,000. Politician: But don't you want the money? Homeschooler: No Politician: Why don't you want the money? Homeschooler: First, it's government money. Second, strings are attached. Third, it's bloated with waste that drives up prices. Politician: Then what do you want? Homeschooler: I want you to stop stealing my income in the form of property taxes for public schools that I don't use and just leave me alone. Politician: But if I did that, I wouldn't be able to make you a dependent, controllable part of my voter base. Homeschooler: exactly chooseeducationindependence.com/resources/
Education Independence@EduIndependence

Government subsidies drove up college tuition. Most people agree on that. So why would vouchers and ESAs work differently for K-12? Same structure. Third-party dollars flowing to private providers. Prices adjust to capture the funding. Regulations follow the money. The exit from government education should not require a government check. Join the conversation and learn more: hubs.la/Q04cTqWD0

Absentee ballots for all was a "temporary" measure born during the pandemic that became permanent. When almost 300,000 absentee ballots are mailed in & over 72% of those vote in the same direction, it makes you realize how imperative it is for the Senate to pass the SAVE ACT.

@XPhrone @NatalieLShorter Did you protest Texas redistricting without even having voters involved? Virginia did this the lawful and democratic way, putting the vote to the citizens. They responded. It passed, despite strong pressure from the Right. What’s there to be mad at?

This is such an insane argument. The underlying implication is that the federal bureaucracy will punish anyone who does not protect 100% of funding and jobs for federal workers, regardless of the necessity or efficiency of that spending. It doesn’t matter if there’s actually a problem with improper spending/hiring or if the American people voted for cuts…voters don’t get a say, only bureaucrats decide and they’ll hurt anyone who stands in their way. It’s also a bank shot to punish Virginia for DOGE cuts …it’s like kicking your cat because you’re mad at your boss. (Btw 12% of the federal workforce was cut and nothing changed)

America. Made in Virginia. Today is a good day to read Federalist papers #10, where James Madison, Father of the US Constitution and drafter of the Virginia Constitution, wrote about the dangers of elections... ..the overbearing majority or factions use their superior force to violate the rules of justice and the rights of the minor parties... The Virginia Constitution clearly articulates the invalidity of this action, and I pray that our Virginia Supreme Court Judges follow this "black letter law". Cc: @JasonMiyaresVA

@royermattw @NickJFreitas Generally the Democratic party IS an enemy of the country, as they are mostly made up of paid agents working for an authoritarian regime. This is why you notoriously can't win a primary as a Democrat if the party doesn't bless you in advance.

Democrats in Virginia just told Republicans that we are less welcome in Virginia than illegal immigrants.
Curtis Houck@CurtisHouck

CNN's @ScottJenningsKY on Virginia's Democrat gerrymander: "Virginia had -- literally had the fairest maps in the nation. They had a 6-5 map, six Democrats, five Republicans. In terms of proportional representation, they had the fairest map in the nation. That was drawn, by the way, by an independent commission that the voters asked for just a few years ago. Now they will have the least fair maps in the nation. And I'm not surprised that the yes vote won. They had all the money and all the lies. And sometimes in politics, when you got those two things, you can put something over the line, even something as egregious as this. This whole thing has driven Spanberger's approval ratings down into the toilet. She lied to the people of Virginia. They had to write a ballot question that was a joke. They drew maps that were a joke. Now you're going to have huge chunks of rural Virginia represented by 5 or 6 Democrats who all live in Northern Virginia, within about 15 miles of each other. It's a complete joke. Everybody knows it. And there's a reason that all these national Democrats and all their money came into Virginia, because, you know, they don't really care about the people of Virginia. They just care about power."
