Israeli activist Alon-Lee Green was arrested after police moved in on an anti-war protest in Tel Aviv, detaining multiple demonstrators as officers forcibly dispersed the gathering. Green, a leading figure in the Jewish-Arab movement Standing Together, had joined protesters opposing Israel’s ongoing war and assault on neighbouring countries and its escalation across the region, as well as the genocide and destruction in Gaza. Demonstrators chanted against the war and demanded an end to the onslaught, as Israeli authorities continue to suppress dissent while continuing to carry out atrocities. His arrest comes amid a broader crackdown on anti-war activism, with multiple demonstrators detained at the same protest and others arrested in recent weeks at similar rallies across Israel. Following the arrests, protesters were left on buses when air raid sirens sounded. Police refused to allow those detained to enter nearby shelters, leaving them trapped on a bus in the street and creating tense scenes as protesters begged. Rights groups and activists say arrests, dispersals and police force are increasingly being used to shut down protests opposing the war and the ongoing genocide in Gaza, as public dissent continues to grow.

The US is on the verge of a catastrophic error, one of very consequential and historic proportions, and this time an error of its own making, entirely of its own making

A lot of people in the anti-war majority part of the Iranian diaspora are closely monitoring whether Iranian monarchists who supported the war are waking up from their delusion that Israel would bomb Iran into liberation. Given the clear objective of destroying Iran as a state for decades to come, many are hoping that Iranian Monarchists will realize their mistake and turn against the war. Those hopes may need to be tempered. The Mujahedin-e Khalq terror organization went from being a relatively popular anti-Shah opposition group to being detested after siding with Saddam Hussein's invasion of Iran in 1980. But their failing bet on Saddam did not prompt them to reassess, regret, or apologize for their treason. Instead, every time they failed, their reaction was to dig deeper and double down on their radical dependence on a foreign power, eventually turning themselves into nothing more than a tool of Iran's geopolitical rivals. I fear the Monarchists may go down the same path. Instead of recognizing the pure idiocy of pushing for their ancestral home to be bombed while they were dancing on the streets of LA and London, they will blame everyone else but themselves. Trump bombed too little, they'll argue. Or perhaps he bombed too much. Israel and the US didn't invade - landtroops were needed, but they simply didn't have it in them. Or perhaps they failed because they didn't arm Kurdish or other ethnic militias. Some of them have argued that weapons should have been sent to Iranian women inside Iran, for them to take up an armed struggle (!!) Perhaps they will even have the audacity to blame the Iranian people for not having revolted during the bombardment. I fear they will blame everyone but themselves while managing their cognitive dissonance by adopting increasingly radical postures. Anything to protect themselves from the painful truth that they have betrayed two peoples: The blood of thousands of people in Iran is on their hands for having pushed for this disastrous war. And they have also betrayed the US by treating US servicemen and women as their personal mercenaries to be deployed to settle their personal scores.

Kids aren’t protesting this war because the Israel Lobby already killed free speech. Over the last two years college students protesting anything tangentially related to Israel faced blacklists from jobs, student group bans, suspensions from school, arrests and deportations.

I’m a family doctor, and I join the call by @drtlaleng in demanding the release of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya who remains in Israeli captivity for over a year. He has been subjected to severe torture. Our medical colleagues have been targeted for doing their jobs - release them all!

And Americans are not actually rooting against their country, they’re rooting against the savage faction that took power by promising to end wars and focus on America and instead launched this insane war. Nobody really believes that Trump and Netanyahu are “America” — not even them. Probably nobody cares less about America than them, frankly. By rooting against Trump and Netanyahu many people are trying to root *for* America, for America to survive and overcome them.

If this is an honest question, I’d say: Americans are rooting against America because we facilitated a genocide and followed it with a surprise attack on a girls elementary school followed by attacks on universities, medical centers, more schools, a world famous pharmaceutical research center, a volley ball team, an unfinished bridge we claimed was transporting weapons and then a nuclear power plant. We are now promising endless attacks on civilian infrastructure. We are hunting and targeting anyone who might be involved in ceasefire negotiations. Most people do not pay enough attention to have absorbed all the propaganda about the U.S. and Iran. So people coming to this fresh see us for what we are: absolute monsters. And monsters must be stopped. That’s why people are rooting against us and for civilization to prevail.

How did we get to the point Where so many Americans are rooting against America?

If I understand it correctly Trump wants Europe to join the war to bring some competence the US sorely lacks. But no: morally the war is a great crime, strategically a disaster. Already several countries in the EU talking to Iran. Faster than I expected in fact

The abuse and attacks endured by Alex Crawford @AlexCrawfordSky for simply pointing out the legal protections afforded to journalists in war are pathetic. It’s evidence of how desperate the defenders of unlawful military operations by Israel have become.

If Turkey were to invade Greece tomorrow, expel all its citizens to Bulgaria and annex the country, the West – however one cares to define it, and Western civilization – however one cares to define it, would survive. Sad but true. The same would hold if Morocco were to take over Spain and Portugal, or (nuclear Armageddon notwithstanding) Russia were to seize Poland and Finland, and even if the US invades and annexes Canada and Greenland. Since 1900 alone, “the West” has survived the two most devastating wars in history, several genocides, the Cold War, the disintegration of multiple European states, and much else. It has even survived two episodes each of Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump. Yet Israel flunkies want us to believe that if Israel fails in its perpetual wars of domination, or is defeated in the attempt, the West and its civilization will instantaneously collapse into the dustbin of history. Is that really the best they can come up with? Is that all they have left in defense of the indefensible?
