#MRCintheNews: With some of the strongest and most consistent offshore wind resources in the world, positive policy measures from government, Atlantic Canada 🇨🇦 is poised to realize its #OffshoreWind potential. In this recent article, Marine Renewables Canada’s Executive Director, Elisa Obermann, highlights a key challenge: “It's definitely feasible to develop and construct those [offshore wind] projects; the main question that we have is just around where is the market for the offshore wind electricity.” The region’s potential is immense, but unlocking the opportunity requires transmission infrastructure and a route to market, such as energy export to markets like New England and other Canadian provinces. Through advocacy, engagement, and initiatives such as supply chain development and international partnerships, Marine Renewables Canada is working to ensure that Canada’s offshore wind opportunity is matched by the infrastructure and enabling measures needed to make this industry a reality 🔗 Read more: corporateknights.com/energy/offshor…
