You can’t talk about Gay Pride with addressing the crazy anti-gay activists. None, in my opinion, was crazier than the former beauty queen Anita Bryant. In the 1970s, she tried to stigmatize gay men as child predators. Her campaign backfired gloriously. Her nationalized bigotry galvanized the Gay community in way we never assumed possible. A blessing in disguise. Her career was devastated. The Florida Citrus Commission dropped her. She lost contracts, income, endured public ridicule, divorce, financial ruin, and multiple bankruptcies. In 1977, Thom Higgins infamously threw a banana cream pie in her face during a televised press conference. In the end, she unwittingly gave Gays greater visibility and acceptance. This photo encapsulates the Anita Bryant legacy. #GayPride #PrideMonth

Depicted below are lymph nodes filled with tattoo ink. A study published in May 2024 compared 1,398 people ages 20 to 60 who had lymphoma with 4,193 people who did not have lymphoma but who were otherwise similar. The study found that lymphoma was 21% more common among those with tattoos pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38827888/ A Danish twin study found that people with tattoos, especially larger tattoos...had higher rates of certain skin cancers and lymphoma. The authors suggest that tattoo ink, which can accumulate in lymph nodes and cause chronic inflammation, may contribute to cancer risk, though they note that more research is needed to confirm the relationship. link.springer.com/content/pdf/10… Research indicates that tattoo inks can contain heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic, and cobalt, which are linked to cancer, allergic reactions, and other chronic diseases. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12…

He died soon after the filming. Sudden Sniffing Death Syndrome (SSDS), also called sudden inhalant death or inhaled hydrocarbon-associated sudden collapse (IHASC), is a rare but devastating form of sudden cardiac arrest triggered by inhaling volatile chemicals from common household or industrial products. It can strike during or shortly after use, even on the first try in otherwise healthy young people.
