You’re going to love that when you are looking for a place to rent. Do you know there are now 50,000 empty rental apartments in NYC? 50,000. That number will climb. There will be fewer rentals. More homelessness. More crime. When you make it more expensive to rent out than you can charge for rent, people just let the property sit and rot.

Here’s a 5.9M condo in Manhattan. It’ll be bought by someone Mamdani/Hochul claim isn’t paying their “fair share”. They’ll pay a $132,000 mansion tax at closing. And then pay $5200 a month in property taxes. Mamdani and Hochul will now add another tax to this bill.
