@_ontologic it's far far too dense to explain in a single reply but tl;dr builds off nietzsche and freud to explain id, ego, superego, correlates it to the success of christianity in the west due to confession/sin as catharsis for habituation while failing to acknowledge shadow. @grok

This is prompting me to ramble a bit, so hopefully it makes sense to ppl. An under-discussed aspect of mental health is habituation. The brain is a machine for generating meaning, but it depends on a solid habitual foundation. Most of this foundation is essentially invisible 1/

I have a hard time describing what I'm feeling right now with regards to coding agents and code-agent sandboxes. This is so clearly the future. Perhaps the entire future of all software. It *feels* like entering a new world. No wonder some people are getting psychosis...

Most of our guests have said the same thing: You can’t outspend OpenAI or Anthropic on general purpose AI. The play is specialization. Pick a specific problem. Solve it better than the foundation models can. That’s the moat. You don’t need to be better at everything. You need to be undeniable at one thing.

Parts of the left seem to have gotten extremely comfortable being in positions of moral superiority to the right and are just making the laziest statements and attempts at critique of the current power structures and are still laughably uncomfortable with criticism

The Road is essentially a founding myth about the rebirth of civilization through a messianic figure in the wake of catastrophe. I don’t know how you could possibly believe him a materialist
Dwayne Barrick@SitLibertas

@christopherrufo I believe McCarthy was largely a misanthrope and an extreme materialist. He was a first-rate writer in terms of command of the language. But he did not believe it was worth noting the inner lives of his characters. He was Gnostic but without the desire for transcendence.
