@Hajjyass70 In country where citizens act as if they are ungovernable and more invested in partisan victory than in development, the politicians most willing to step into leadership are often those who want to enrich themselves, because they donโ€™t care about frustration.

@Hajjyass70 .. The problem begins with us, the citizens, few are ready for that conversation. Politicians who would measure success by the progress they bring to society often stay out of politics because many citizens neither understand nation-building nor have the patience for it.

@Korsogyimi Beyond the money, there is a chronic comprehension problem on this TL: many people donโ€™t try to understand or analyze what they read, nor do they recognize where they are intervening or what alternatives exist within that context.

See, like I always say: unless youโ€™re joining agenda to cashout from Elon.. Aside that, a lot of people on this TL have zero knowledge about how things work in relations to Ghana and governance as a wholeโ€ฆ Donโ€™t just post about anything in the name of politics..

For too long, the discourse on Africa has been a "symphony of simplifications." ๐ŸŒ @fossuiii recently launched the inaugural Africa Updates 2026, a student-led initiative to move beyond crisis narratives and grapple with the continentโ€™s intricate social, economic, and political tapestry.

@thecophq Nothing was said wrong here, but sometimes even our main media outlets acts as random bloggers. Instead of putting proper context to issues, they rather focus on getting attention. What they donโ€™t realize it, media reports also form parts of academic research and must be fair.

@IanSpeedHQ I think this is the simplest one could ever explain it. BoG rated many of us here, with that abstract explanation. However, the problem here on X is comprehension. Many can read but few make effort to understand, even if it means asking for clarification. We just read and react.

The Bank of Ghana just made an important announcement for content creators in Ghana. Let me break it down simply. If you make money on X, YouTube, TikTok or any digital platform, that money is now officially recognised as โ€œservice export proceeds.โ€ Think of it like this: a carpenter in Ghana makes a chair and sells it to someone in America. That is an export. You as a content creator make videos or posts and people abroad pay you for it. Same thing. You are exporting a service. Your money is legal. What this means practically: you can receive your dollars or pounds directly into a Foreign Exchange Account (FEA) at your Ghanaian bank, OR you can receive it straight into your cedi account. Both are allowed. The problem BoG is acknowledging: many creators have been having trouble actually accessing their money when it arrives. Banks blocking it, flagging it, or just not processing it properly. BoG is basically saying: that should not be happening. They are now investigating why it keeps happening and working with the banks to fix it. What you should do right now: go to your bank, tell them you receive digital platform earnings classified as โ€œservice export proceedsโ€ and ask them to set up the correct account. Use that exact phrase. It carries legal weight now.

@3SportsGh โ€ฆWhy would the Black Stars agree to call up new players with even less experience but not Odoi? Itโ€™s because of the noise about โ€œthey did not play qualifiers so they canโ€™t go to World Cupโ€. The GFA makes no effort to get them just to avoid criticisms.

@3SportsGh He was right and chose the perfect words at the right time. People donโ€™t realize that our noise only drags the Black Stars down further. Some of the decisions the GFA makes these days, aimed at avoiding criticism. We not getting Odoi and co.. is because of these criticisms..

@KofiPhD @Thevokofficial .. also, the policy foundations are sometimes there but untapped. E.g.. the reason why govโ€™t insist on R&D in business deals like mining is to enhance university-business research relations.

@KofiPhD @Thevokofficial I know, I am not doubting that because I have experienced it in Asian countries as well. My point is that, schools cannot also fail to be innovative because govโ€™t fails. Private industries are equally among those laying the foundation for Aust.. students.

@KofiPhD @Thevokofficial Itโ€™s not supposed to have been so or โ€œI am wrongโ€?. You mean when there are alternatives, schools should not use that path because itโ€™s not from govโ€™t. The Unis are semi-autonomous for a reason.

@KofiPhD @Thevokofficial The assumption that we read too much theory is misleading. From my experience in Ghana, we donโ€™t read as much as students do in universities abroad. Everything starts with a lot of reading; the only difference is that they know when to let you pause and apply what youโ€™ve read.

@KofiPhD @Thevokofficial This is the point people often miss. For example, KNUST has students studying mechanical engineering, and fortunately, there is Suame Magazine. What stops KNUST from building a relationship that benefits both the students and the business people there through knowledge exchange?
