@CTVNews The vast majority of addicts don’t get addicted because they took a prescription for pain and got hooked as they’d have you believe. The either have trauma or a previous addiction issue. Psychiatric help is needed. Stop demonizing opiates and refusing needed pain meds.

It happens to be that drugs, alcohol, food and many other things in life have this intrinsic effect on the human psyche to slow the pain down, minimize it for the moment? Your blanked statement "society just needs to understand this and stop making excuses" is a very uneducated take Arlene. You should start listening to our podcast if your arrogance allows it, it can help broaden your view and help rid you of the anger I'm sensing.
