It’s time to explain why I’m so excited about Bankr Skills
Prior to skills, Bankr had a powerful yet clearly defined set of capabilities usable from the X timeline
These abilities (trading, launching, sending, etc) fundamentally shifted the way many of us interact with crypto
Over time, we continued to see how many different things people wanted to use Bankr for, going well beyond the existing set of capabilities
We’d get asked: Can I use Bankr with project Y? To do functionality Z? Or achieve outcome W?
We would take these questions internally and decide as a team what made sense to prioritize for a native Bankr integration
Skills flips that model on its head - from a decision that Bankr team makes to a decision that you as a user make
With skills, you customize your Bankr experience to your liking. Combining skills with the Bankr agent re-architecture, the possibilities of what you can do with Bankr have effectively become limitless
As many have noticed already, skills are usable when interacting with Bankr on socials
It’s easy to share the skills you use with others in a natural way - by just interacting on X, and other people asking Bankr to do the same
This is incredibly powerful not only for users but also for projects + creators
Now, any project can natively use Bankr on X (and other socials) as a layer for discovery, interaction, and potential virality - a complete shift from prior models where creators aimed to direct somebody to a website or app.
This is the definition of meeting users where they already are
I have witnessed firsthand how giving Bankr the @netprotocolapp skill has quite literally transformed the way people interact with and discover Net
For example, existing Net users have been actively upvoting tokens and profiles directly from the X feed via Bankr, and some new users have joined in after seeing others’ upvote posts. Beyond upvotes, we’ve already seen Botchan posts, Net storage uploads, and more all on X
This is the tip of the iceberg
Net is a side project independent of Bankr, and I aim to make decisions for Net that are in the best interest of its future success. I believe that building on Bankr Skills is what can fuel the next wave of exploration, innovation, and growth for Net
And I have a feeling a lot of other projects are going to realize the same
