BULK BALANCE RESETS
I’ve seen a looooot of outrage over the balance resets on the bulk testnet. It’s pretty funny to watch, since farmers think that farming mockUSDC will get them a $100,000,000 life-changing airdrop, but let’s take a closer look at why these balance resets happen.
MockUSDC is not an “asset,” but a consumable. The focus right now is on testing the engine, not on preserving user history.
BULK in the docs emphasizes performance and testing the core of the trading stack. In this phase, the team typically prioritizes:
matching correctness > risk engine correctness > settlement correctness > UX continuity.
Similarly, when changing margin logic, liquidations, and generally with any updates, it’s easier to perform a reset than to migrate all existing balances to a new structure—this is the conclusion I drew from the Architecture section in the project documentation.
Don’t worry about the balance; I think this is a great opportunity to practice trading without losing real money, and then make big money on the fastest DEX on Solana once the mainnet launches.
