I still remember my Home Science teacher from 12th grade. I was new to the school and had such a hard time adjusting. New faces, new environment, everything just felt unfamiliar. Somehow, she noticed it without me ever having to say anything. I'd always look forward to her classes. I'd actually participate, answer questions, and for those 40–50 minutes school didn't feel as overwhelming. She made the classroom feel like a place where I belonged. A few months later she left the school, and I remember feeling so disappointed because she was one of the very few teachers I genuinely admired. Then one day she texted me a whole paragraph telling me how well-behaved and respectful she thought I was. I don't remember every word she wrote, but I'll never forget the last line: "I wish my son becomes like you." It's been years, and somehow that one sentence has stayed with me ever since. Some compliments don't just make your day, they quietly become a part of you.
