Are you aware that Tinubu was not even on Abachaโ€™s list, which was collated by Major Hamza Al-Mustapha and handed over to Sergeant Silas Mshiela, aka Sergeant Rogers, for execution? His going into exile was for self-elevation and to plant himself into the core of NADECO for future political considerations. All of us know what nearly happened to Chief Alex Ibru in the hands of Abachaโ€™s killer squad. But they want us to downgrade the true efforts of nationalists like Chief Ibru and elevate Tinubu for doing nothing. For June 12, we saw Olisa Agbakoba in the street of Lagos with his Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) and how he brazenly took on Abacha and the then military governor, Col. Buba Marwa without fear. We saw the fearless Chief Gani Fawehinmi and Chief Falana, and many others who put their talents and resources to the disposal of the movement. As much as I do not want to reduce everyone's collective efforts, where was Tinubu and his significance at this time? Tinubu became interested in the movement only after Abacha rejected his entreaties to be made a minister and instead chose Chief Lateef Jakande as Minister of Housing. Again, this became the core of Tinubuโ€™s grouse with Jakande. Even as governor, Tinubu took every step to relegate Jakandeโ€™s achievements as governor of Lagos State. Folks, Chief Kayode Jakande was the greatest governor Lagos ever had in terms of infrastructure, followed by Fashola in policy.
แปŒnแปฅselแปฅแปgแปฅ@madonnite

Funsho Williams did not abandon his ambition to become governor after Pa Adesanya appealed to him to step down for Tinubu in December 1998. With Obasanjo as president, Funsho decamped to the PDP. At that point, he became a greater political danger to the Lagos establishment. Meanwhile, Tinubu had already clashed with his deputy, Mrs. Kofo Akerele-Bucknor, a strong force in the AD, and had pushed the House to impeach her. This political misstep angered indigenous Lagosians, who saw Princess Bucknor as a representative of their enlightened interests. The grand scheme was to ensure that no Tinubu protรฉgรฉ would come near Lagos House again, and Funsho Williams was prepared to take up the mantle in 2007. The forces had gathered to sweep Tinubuโ€™s looming influence from Lagos politics, but suddenly, Funsho Williams was murd@d in his Ikoyi residence.

When all is done, we need to build the new Nigerian politics on ideologies and not just the need to align with the ruling party or most popular opposition. If we can't have multiple strong oppositions, we should have a two party system built heavily on ideologies.

@AishaYesufu But madam Aisha, isn't this likened to the same exodus of politicians during the 2015 elections? I am afraid the party might just be filled with people that are power hungry and not ready to serve.

Fun Easter fact, since the Gospels recorded that there was an earthquake when Christ died, archeologists have checked the sediments which show evidence of earth quakes and it turns out there were two dates when there is clear evidence that an earthquake happened that also fall on Passover eve during the reign of Pontius Pilate: Friday April 7, 30 AD and Friday April 3, 33 AD. When astronomers check planetary records it also turns out that the second date April 3, 33AD also records a โ€œblood moonโ€ which is a partial lunar eclipse. So given both records, the strongest evidence for the day of the Crucifixion based on the earthquake and the lunar eclipse is April 3, 33AD during the last three years of Pilateโ€™s governorship of Judea. Happy Easter, everyone.

You have totally and completely lost your mind and this post of yours will go down in infamy as the most consequential one you ever made. What you have written today is way beyond politics and you have assaulted the senses and wounded the sensitivities of all those who lost their lives, liberty and loved ones during the struggle against fascism, dictatorship and military rule. To mock the memory of those that died fighting for democracy in the June 12th struggle and sacrificed their lives and liberty as members of NADECO in this way is unacceptable and unforgivable. Simply put it is despicable. The blood of all those that were killed by General Abacha and his goons, whom you served, shall speak against you for the rest of your life and their spirits shall haunt you from now till eternity. For this reason alone you stand accursed before the world, you shall NEVER become President of our nation and, as from today, your dwindling star shall be totally eclipsed and fade away until it is no more. God will perfect it and the blood of Jesus will seal it! (FFK)

Yesterday defenders of democracy, today's destroyers, What a shame. What an irony of history, that the acclaimed defenders of democracy and human rights who claimed to have fought for democracy during the era of General Sani Abacha now find themselves worse than the man they opposed. Today, General Sani Abacha, once presumed face of oppression, will be remembered as seemingly more democratic and more respectful of human rights than the so-called champions of activism from the NADECO days. Power indeed reveals character. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Donโ€™t ever think that the day God decides to visit his justice upon Nigeria that you will go Scot free because you did not do harm anyone. If you kept quiet. If you โ€œcarried onโ€. The day Godโ€™s justice is visited upon this country, we will all partake in it. Because we are all guilty of not doing enough when it mattered. When Patience Jonathan said โ€œthere is God oโ€ we all laughed at the meme not realizing the joke was on us. Itโ€™s not too late to speak up.

@dat_deltagirl No matter what, you shouldn't call someone that is old to be your father a mad man and a fool. How will you feel if someone young to be your child calls you same? No perfect government any where in the world. If you want to criticise, do that without insult.

This afternoon, I spent time with stakeholders and victims of the recent terror incident in Jos, Plateau State. No amount of money can bring back the dead, but the Federal Government will do our best to comfort them, walk with them and provide necessary assistance. Rhoda Favour, I feel your pain but no matter what we say, we cannot bring Ayuba back. We will find the perpetrators of this dastardly acts. @unicodeveloper The frontend source code problem is real though. People ship entire .env configs, API keys, and database schemas in their bundle files without realizing the browser DevTools is basically an open invitation. Server side rendering was never just about SEO.

unpopular opinion: 16GB is plenty if software engineers actually cared about memory efficiency. chrome eating 4GB for 12 tabs is not a hardware problem its a software disgrace. docker consuming 2GB idle is not a feature its laziness. we live in an era where people optimize every single token to save $0.001 on API costs but happily ship electron apps that eat 500MB to display a todo list. if the industry treated RAM the way we treat inference compute - obsessively measuring every byte - 16GB would feel luxurious. the hardware isnt the problem, the software is @adxtyahq

never buy a 16GB RAM laptop in 2026. youโ€™ll regret it within a week

My dear fellow Nigerians, Today, as I clock another year in the journey of life, I'm filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity given me to serve this great nation. I want to take this moment to thank Nigerians for their messages, show of love and prayers on the occasion of my 74th birthday. I thank all our citizens for their patriotism, solidarity and support for our administration. To those who have taken space in newspapers or paid for air time on radio and television to wish me well, I thank you immensely. I must thank my wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, for her kind and loving words. I also thank Vice President Kashim Shettima for all he said about me. Consistent with my tradition over the years to mark my birthday in line with the mood of the nation each year, I resolved to also observe this year's birthday low key. As I mark this special day, I am reminded of the challenges we've faced since we initiated our reforms. I'm glad that our sacrifices have not been in vain as we can see some glittering light at the end of the tunnel, despite the temporary setback caused by ongoing Middle East crisis. The credit for the positive outcomes we have achieved does not belong solely to me, our Renewed Hope team and to our government. We achieved the gains together. As we march towards the third anniversary of our administration, it is my deepest conviction that we shall succeed in building a brighter future for our citizens and future generations. We are determined to confront some of the challenges we face today, and with your continued support, we shall overcome. Let us continue to work together to build a stronger, prosperous and more resilient nation that will make Nigeria the pride of Africa. Thank you all, and happy 74th birthday to me! Bola Ahmed Tinubu President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
