Friend of mine has just done her UK citizenship test. First question was about which king hid up a tree. Ludicrous. I love history. But how does knowing this prepare anyone for life in the UK? The test should, surely, be about values.

Ongoing harassment, and worse, of independent journalists by the Indian state. Journalists in the US should pay close attention to what happens elsewhere and show solidarity with brave reporters like Rana.
