I am deeply grateful to @TheAcademy for selecting Snow Bear as one of the 15 shortlisted films for Best Animated Short Film. There were over 100 amazing films to choose from. It is truly an honor to see this deeply personal, hand-drawn film recognized alongside so many incredible works from artists around the world. Snow Bear was created by hand, frame by frame, over several years. It is a film about loss, loneliness and longing for companionship. To see the film itself finding companionship in the hearts of the audience has been wonderful. It is also a film without dialogue because it is meant to give a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves. We hope it continues to open eyes and hearts. Fingers crossed for the next stages of our journey and congratulations to the fellow films on the shortlist. I am forever grateful to everyone who has supported this journey. I have lots to do and not much time, and yet I found myself spending the evening designing a logo for a squirrel bank because my daughter made a funny observation that squirrel tails kinda looks like dollar signs. Is there a name for the brain disorder that I have??
