🚨BREAKING | Israeli occupation forces are replicating in Lebanon the same strategy used during the genocide in Gaza, systematically targeting water infrastructure and cutting off access to essential resources for civilians. In just four days in March 2026, at least seven critical water facilities in the Bekaa region were damaged, disrupting supply for nearly 7,000 people, while across southern Lebanon, bombardment has struck areas where water systems were being rehabilitated, leaving entire communities without reliable access to clean water. Humanitarian teams are now unable to access at least 19 water facilities they were working on due to the intensity of the attacks, raising fears that large parts of the network may now be destroyed or non-functional. This follows a wider pattern documented in an Oxfam report, which found that in 2024 Israeli occupation attacks damaged more than 45 water networks across Lebanon, impacting nearly half a million people and severely disrupting access to clean water, livelihoods, and agriculture. In the current brutal war against civilians, entire regions are again being pushed into collapse, with hundreds of thousands forcibly displaced in southern Lebanon alone, while water systems, electricity networks, and bridges are repeatedly struck, cutting off basic services for entire towns and villages. Since the start of this new phase of the war, Israeli occupation attacks have killed at least 900 people and injured more than 2,200 across Lebanon, while over one million have been forced from their homes. These strikes have repeatedly targeted infrastructure essential for civilian survival, including water facilities, which are explicitly protected under international law. The Geneva Conventions prohibit targeting water systems or using deprivation of water as a method of warfare because it directly threatens civilian life, increasing the risk of disease, hunger, and long-term collapse of entire communities.
