now i exclusively own and wear boxers, i dont even think about it now, but it was the biggest thing in the world to me to own just one pair a decade ago

being older and being able to do what you want is crazy, especially when you kind of forget how much of a struggle it used to be to be yourself. I remember at 13 ordering my first pair of real boxers to a friends house, hiding them, and wearing them over other underwear every day

done some heavy lifting today rifling through a warehouse full of stuff from a closed down bar chain and getting some absolute bargains for my bar ๐ค (we of course had to take every single disco ball)

@butchable I just do genuinely find it insane as a trans femme to see anyone say that being a femme automatically makes your life easier, cause I sure as hell do not get treated well for how I look

Anybody who does not fit societies standard faces judgement and discrimination, obviously there are layers to this with racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia and more. There will always be similarities and differences with peoples experiences, but itโs important we all listen

i think a lot of discourse on butchfemmetwt would be resolved if people just stopped viewing everything as butch vs femme. yeah butches do not get enough love and are treated horribly especially irl but femmes are also constantly harassed and not viewed as "real lesbians"

butches would be nothing without femmes. weโre supposed to be in community with each other, supporting each other and uplifting each other

people in the queer community and the lesbian community are not immune to these things, and itโs important to share how we are treated and how we feel and work to be better for each other, and support each other because we are literally the best chance we have

also just to add, iโm speaking about my experiences here but i think it needs to be said this is obviously even more of a topic for queer poc and iโm sure most of what ive said is only even more amplified for them, and i think we need to remember what the real world is like

Something I donโt think a lot of people realise is quite how people viewing you as a masculine woman/ butch affects almost all of your interactions.
I literally can not have a disagreement with somebody outside my circle who doesnโt resort to my looks, itโs peopleโs first attack
