@JustTeddii This honestly looks like a treat for the 1v1 scene.💖 Also Ted, unrelated but idk where to put this, so I'm writing to you that lighting, ambience, LOD, fog, depth of field & lot of effects in STW have been missing/broken for a couple of years now. Is a fix on the team's radar?

Fortnite Community, let’s talk! Why don’t we zoom in on the upcoming “Rematch Rivals” Victory Screen button and the ability to “1v1 Your Friends”… When making the Rivalries gameplay, we asked ourselves the question; Wouldn’t it be cool if… Rivalries could persist across games? I’m sure we all remember Battle Royale matches where you had an organic rivalry, and you remembered the opponents gamertag, only for the rivalry to end when the match is over 😞 But what if we could bottle that up and give it more meaning? Even more than that, I’m sure I’m not alone when I’ve finished a match and a DM pops up to say “you wouldn’t beat me in a 1v1 brah!” 🤣 Now that very person who claims you couldn’t beat them in a 1v1 (brah), can now prove it in our 1v1 invite to Arenas! And the gamertags you battled against for the Victory Royale? They can now be more than just remembered - they can be REMATCHED. So in the upcoming updates as part of Season 2, you’ll see both of these “wouldn’t it be cool if’s…” come to life. As always, would love to hear your thoughts and experiences especially as I believe these to be industry-first features in the Battle Royale genre - just please remember; Keep it friendly competition 🤝 Cheers 🫡

@Wasting_Night I was thinking about this yesterday that why is lars not here? We can have that old lars page but with the new research system

I know the StW team are streamlining stuff for the game's F2P release in like, a week or so but I feel like Lars' menu could've been retrofitted to this instead. I mean the tab is literally called "Research" too. lol

@CammyG___ @archer_fortnite I stopped carrying the Baron after the hoverboard buff. I dont see a reason to occupy a slot when hoverboard is just as good now

@archer_fortnite Must have is a bit of an overstatement I would say. I tried a 3x Movement Speed Baron and it's nothing special, I can move around with the Hoverboard just as quick and I'm nimble with it Never committed to the Baron and never will

For newer players confused why they see people carrying this hammer around in every mission, this is The Baron The Baron is a hammer you can get from Wild West Llamas, the reason it's so special is that it can have 3 Movement Speed Perks on it, making it a must have utility item

@SillyMoon2003 So true! A lot of storm effects, depth of field effect was also removed. The storm spawn swirls are also way brighter than being dark shades of purple. BTW, I captured this is STH yesterday, it still has great lighting. Very reminiscent of the old one!!

@capylooka Fortnite nowadays is just so bright and lacks any contrast or detail in the lighting, it genuinely hurts my eyes... back then, you could have bright but detailed light during the day and moody visuals with fog / volumetric GI at night. (Third image is actually Lumen GI)

@capylooka OMG yeah same, I've been playing Project Nocturno for the last couple days and seeing how beautiful the graphics are in the 2016/2017 builds of Fortnite makes me sad that we no longer have that in todays game... I beg they bring back the original lighting/visuals from then! 🙏

@SillyMoon2003 I don't understand who decided it would be a good idea to tweak the lighting in STW, it was a perfect ambience

This makes me wonder what it would take for Epic to tweak the TODM in STW for locations like Forest and Suburbs to have as close to the original '2017' lighting/atmosphere as possible... no need for Nanite and Lumen, the game can look better if we got this instead! 🥺

@SouthieFromSTW1 So they can still do the old lighting? Damn 😲 Also did you notice that stonewood zones lack the stars in the sky while other zones still have it. The stonewood lighting is definitely the worst right now. Grasslands, Industrial look so overblown with light

After checking myself, this isn't actually the case and it's really weird The tutorial Fight The Storm uses "TODM_STW_Temperate-FtS_C" which is the standard TODM in Stonewood zones The tutorial mission which DOES use "MASTER_TODM_C" is actually the Ride The Lightning tutorial lol
