Strike Out Cancer Day in 2025 was another huge success! It is truly one of the best days of the year, and we are so fortunate to be able to help to put on such a great event, that supports such meaningful causes and efforts. Another absolutely remarkable effort that was put together by so many selfless people helped to raise money for some really great causes. Thank you so much to the massive number of people from the Lockport, Minooka, Yorkville, and all other communities who came out to support the causes on this great day! The Lockport Porter Baseball and Softball programs are incredibly grateful for all of the people that play a part in our annual Strike Out Cancer event. Thank you to the Minooka Baseball & Softball programs, and Yorkville Softball program for being a part of such a special day. The amazing efforts put out by all of these organizations coming together for a great cause is nothing short of incredible. VERY SPECIAL THANK YOUS go out to the Porter Baseball families, the Lockport Porters Softball program and their parents, our LTHS athletic department, administration, and our incredibly hard working grounds crew! We also want to give another HUGE THANK YOU to all of the sponsors, donors, and the COUNTLESS number of parents, staff members, families, alumni, etc. who played a monumental part in making this tremendous event a possibility and an absolutely smashing success!! Strike Out Cancer 2025 is this coming Saturday, May 17th, at beautiful Ed Flink Field! Baseball and softball games will be going on throughout the entire day, as we honor the many people who have been affected by cancer, while also raising money for some incredible causes!

Congratulations to two of our members of the class of 2024, who received scholarships in honor of two very important Porter Baseball alumni! We are incredibly proud of these young men, and the great work that they are doing. Drew Piper received one of this year’s CC2 Forever Foundation scholarships, in honor of Connor Christian (Class of 2021). Jake Ferkaluk received the Zachary Lammers Memorial Scholarship, in honor of Zach Lammers (Class of 2005).

The 2024 edition of Strike Out Cancer day was another incredible day, and one that brought great success! Some of the highlights of the day were being able to help the CC2 Forever Foundation donate $50K to the Lurie Cancer Center at Northwestern, and a very thoughtful dedication by the softball program in Courtney Schoolcraft’s memory. Thank you so much to the massive number of people from the Lockport, Minooka, Yorkville, and all other communities who came out to support the causes on this great day! It is estimated that nearly 2,300 people attended this year’s Strike Out Cancer event. The Lockport Porter Baseball and Softball programs are incredibly grateful for all of the people that play a part in our annual Strike Out Cancer event.
