Marriage is not a vow that a man will never again be sexually wanted the way he was while being won. Too many husbands are told to accept a lifetime of reduction, deprivation, and polite little scraps, and then pretend that makes them honorable. Considering the amount of women I know who’ve gone through divorces and come out the other end, I feel 100% affirmed in my choice to not marry. Not-all-women, of course, but most are happier post-divorce and were unhappy-to-miserable in their marriages. I do understand the purpose of marriage—for the kids—but in general it doesn’t seem to make women happy so much as unhappy, stressed, and often kind of traumatized… I realize this is a gauche thing to say, considering the heterodox pro-marriage wave, but I think it’s generally true… Marriage just isn’t often an enjoyable or beneficial arrangement for many women…
