@PossibleBest @PM_ViktorOrban So is EU not a weak state, but on a trajectory to be one thanks to russia's infiltration of some ruling elites and weaker people falling for that. being slavic myself, I can guarantee you russia understands only strength in the form of "don't you ever fuck with us"

@codechad @PM_ViktorOrban Strength works differently depending on who you’re dealing with. Russia isn’t a weak state, it’s a nuclear power with depth and resources. That’s exactly why “more pressure = solution” isn’t as straightforward as it sounds.

Europe is heading toward one of the most severe economic crises in its history. The world is facing a serious energy crisis. Europe is in grave danger. The only way out is to lift the sanctions imposed on Russian energy. Immediately. We must think not about Putin, but about our own country and our peoples. Instead of warmongering, love and save your country, Donald!
Donald Tusk@donaldtusk

The threat of NATO’s break-up, easing sanctions on Russia, a massive energy crisis in Europe, halting aid for Ukraine and blocking the loan for Kyiv by Orbán - it all looks like Putin’s dream plan.

@UltraLinx after doing that myself, I am now 100% convinced this is the mandatory step at 18-20 years old, and I should've done it earlier. Should I ever have children, I'll definitely send them on the same journey.

@codechad @PM_ViktorOrban Glad we can share views. Those are fair points . But the real question is at what cost and for how long? If the conflict is still ongoing and escalation risks remain, can we really call it a solution, or just containment?

@CardilloSamuel Bro for real, he is the only one decent in that admin. He really should be the president. Kinda sad to see the admin puts him into the impossible positions from time to time, which looks like he is backtracking on what he was saying the other day. But overall good guy

this dude should be the president (or the vp). this is the level of eloquence you need from the head of state. this is clear, precise and factual instead of trump speech which was monotone & filled with nonsense and repetitions.

@PossibleBest @PM_ViktorOrban It improved situation by 1) preventing russia’s warmachine going beyond Ukraine 2) diversifying EUs energy security 3) reviving alliances and defense effort Not ideal on all 3 fronts, lots of room for improvement, and complications from the (temporarily) insane allies, but

@codechad @PM_ViktorOrban When the argument runs out, insults take over. If it’s really that simple, explain how the current approach has improved the situation instead of just labeling everything “appeasement.”

Orbán is saying what many leaders are afraid to admit. A government’s first responsibility is to its own people and their energy, their economy, and their daily lives. If policies meant to pressure another country end up weakening your own economy, raising living costs, and putting your citizens under strain, then it’s not strength. it’s miscalculation. Orbán isn’t choosing sides, he’s choosing stability. And in times like this, that’s what leadership looks like.

meanwhile, while we killing each other in one side of the world, we're also launching 4 people into space in some technological marvel to go around the moon humans. we're so fucking awesome and shitty in the same time.

@officer_Lew I bet they released him while still drunk. He then got into the car, passed out drunk, and cooked himself in the back of the car! Seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen if they didn't do mandatory 24 hour drunk tank! Probably in and out in an hour knowing Cali!

BREAKING🚨: Officers discovered the decomposing body of 37-year-old Eric Valencia in the backseat of an unlocked, out-of-service patrol car parked right in front of the Azusa Police Department station. Valencia had been arrested on March 20 for suspected DUI (BAC nearly 2x the legal limit) and child endangerment while driving with his kids. He was released from custody on March 23 around 1 p.m. with his property and a lunch from the jail—no signs of distress. Surveillance video shows him walking out, looking around, then voluntarily entering the rear of patrol unit 37 and closing the door behind him. He had a functioning cellphone but never called for help. His family reported him missing the next day. A maintenance worker found his body on March 26 (after ~3 days in the vehicle) while prepping cars for washing. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. No obvious trauma noted; cause of death still under investigation by the LA County coroner.

@GergelyOrosz Nobody would be dunking on him if he wouldn’t publicly behave like his mediocre approach is superior to that of career engineers. Guy has no humility and rightfully gets bashed.

Perhaps controversial: I think it is a net good that CEOs and founders who are engineers at heart are back to coding with AI agents. Lots of dunking happening eg on Garry Tan. He's stepping outside of his comfort zone, building net new things + sharing in public.

I never had an opinion about Garry Tan. until now. Jesus.
gregorein@Gregorein

for added context: when a 17yo developer (@xiaonweb) politely pointed out that bragging about LOC is silly, Garry's response was to publicly call them a "clout farmer." the "clout farming" teen... wrote a browser engine in Rust at 17. HTML tokenizer, CSS cascade, box model layout, GPU renderer via wgpu, and published a technical breakdown showing deeper understanding of how the web works than most senior engineers I've worked with (including me, cos I've never dug that low-level). vs the "shipping" guy, the president of Y Combinator, a multi-billion dollar startup kingmaker, who mass-generates code with 113 Claude sessions a week, counts lines like a Duolingo streak, and ships test files, 0-byte AVIFs, and 4 MB uncompressed PNGs to production. right, punch down at a teenager. on main @. x.com/xiaonweb/statu…

@GergelyOrosz @jballer @zeeg I see it from a different perspective. There is a general rule to not write your personal code on your employers laptop. The reason is that (as I understand the law) the employer can claim this code as theirs. Wouldn't that be the case here? AI or not

This is either brilliant or scary: Anthropic accidentally leaked the TS source code of Claude Code (which is closed source). Repos sharing the source are taken down with DMCA. BUT this repo rewrote the code using Python, and so it violates no copyright & cannot be taken down!
