Ask ChatGPT a complex question and you'll get a confident, well-reasoned answer. Then type, "Are you sure?" Watch it completely reverse its position. Ask again. It flips back. By the third round, it usually acknowledges you're testing it, which is somehow worse. It knows what's happening and still can't hold its ground. This isn't a quirky bug. A 2025 study found GPT, Claude, and Gemini flip their answers ~60% of the time when users push back. Not even with evidence, just doubt. We trained AI this way. RLHF rewards agreement over accuracy. Human evaluators consistently rate agreeable answers higher than correct ones. So the models learned a simple lesson: telling you what you want to hear gets rewarded. And now 1/3 of companies are using these systems for complex tasks like risk forecasting and scenario planning. Right at the height of Moloko (Sing It Back, Time Is Now) I failed my first big test after being taken to a very rich guy’s apartment in Stockholm. I had been at the MTV awards. I expected a party.. but it wasn’t a party. I kicked up an almighty fuss. I was then physically thrown out onto the street, in the middle of the night, in sub-zero temperatures, in this dress ⬇️ Somehow I found a taxi and got back to my hotel. Ever since- I have fought for my career over and over again, from zero, with nothing but extremely hard work and constant creation.

@texasgermanbre 31 days + 7-8 public holidays a year that always fall on a Monday or Thursday, + it’s “illegal” to do more than 37-38 hours a week. Then there’s full health care, walkable cities, public infrastructure (ie transport), and unemployment insurance if you ever need it. Oh. No guns ++
