@MikeTappTweets @ZackPolanski Aye that’s me done like. My family have voted over and over for Labour for generations, that stops here. I can’t wait to watch the party you’ve hijacked get destroyed at the next election. Representing absolutely no one with this fascist authoritarian sh*te.
English

@ZackPolanski Do you support the Palestine Action group?
English

@Bweaver_87 @herespsycho @BladeoftheS @grok Yeah i didn’t think you’d get it… you’re not wrong mind I do waste my time, but it’s actually with exchanges like this 😂 I won’t try and help you understand why things aren’t as simple as you need them to be. Have a good weekend man
English

@cona674 @herespsycho @BladeoftheS @grok Not the same thing, life isn’t a 45 minute test, you’ve got hundreds of thousands of hours to make your life better, you appear to possibly waste them feeling sorry for yourself so far 🤷♂️
English

@Bweaver_87 @herespsycho @BladeoftheS @grok Imagine a driving test with 2 groups.
Group A gets 50 hours worth of lessons and Group B just has to chance it with no experience. When 67% of the people who pass are from B, it’s not because Group B is a better starting point, it’s because there’s tons more people in Group B
English

@cona674 @herespsycho @BladeoftheS @grok No, because 67% is higher than 33% 🤦 the chances are in favour of self made.
English

@Bweaver_87 @herespsycho @BladeoftheS @grok It would need to be 100% to disprove that theory though.
English

@cona674 @herespsycho @BladeoftheS @grok 67% are self made, so no, the statistics disprove that theory instantly.
English

@Bweaver_87 @herespsycho @BladeoftheS @grok You are, likely, correct. But the chances of me becoming a successful businessman from that start are higher than that of my actual start.
English

@cona674 @herespsycho @BladeoftheS Maybe, but I’d hazard a guess, if you had, been you’d still be broke by now…🤷♂️
@grok how many billionaires are self made?
English

@Bweaver_87 @herespsycho @BladeoftheS Or I could be born into a wealthy white family with a father owning shares in a Zambian emerald trading venture in the middle of apartheid era South Africa!
English

That’s “poor me” though isn’t it…
You could think of an idea write a really compelling business plan, take it to a bank or investor and then someone would be investing in your unrealised asset.
That used to be a lot easier than it is now, banks stopped betting on those people so easily. But stayed in the business of lending billions against rich people’s unrealised assets.
I put it to you sir, your anger is with the banks, your envy is with Mr Musk.
English

@cona674 @herespsycho @BladeoftheS Then you can’t loan against them, but the bank will loan against realised assets for you, and you may have already if you’ve ever got a mortgage or finance on a car or appliance etc.
English

@RecursiveChange @Samcarrollhull @OliDugmore Yeah bro this is a great point, taxing unrealised wealth is a nightmare! I wish I knew the correct answer on how to do it effectively, but everyday is a school day. I’m researching further right now. Just because something is hard doesn’t mean it shouldn’t or can’t be done tho
English

@cona674 @Samcarrollhull @OliDugmore So you'd tax him 40% on a trillion.
The following year the market arbitrarily decides it's now worth 250bn (percentage swings that actually happen) and he's now 150bn in debt.
Yet he never actually got paid anything at any point.
English

@RecursiveChange @Samcarrollhull @OliDugmore I didn’t just randomly tweet about this, I replied to you regarding Elon paying the correct level of tax. I felt you were wrong or there was more nuance to the topic and this is an open forum so… if I see someone talking about sports stars taxes don’t worry I’ll chime in 😂
English

@cona674 @Samcarrollhull @OliDugmore I really hope somebody comes along and invents a perfect anti addiction drug and id be super stoked for that person making lots of money with it.
Are you a sports/music/film fan? Can you point me to any tweets of yours rinsing those super rich people?
English

@RecursiveChange @Samcarrollhull @OliDugmore No it means he’d have to take a legitimate salary at his companies instead of relying on his loan strategy
English

@cona674 @Samcarrollhull @OliDugmore Which means he would have to sell the stock to pay for those taxes.
Where does that stop? Do we tax your parents on their housing gains?
English

@RecursiveChange @Samcarrollhull @OliDugmore Nah bro, that stuff is cool, there’s no negative to delivering internet to the poor. I just want the state to properly enact legislation that allows them to properly tax the likes of Elon at the appropriate rate on his actual wealth
English

@cona674 @Samcarrollhull @OliDugmore What's really shitty Connor is that so-called liberals just cannot get excited about actually tackling climate change, or delivering internet to the poor.
You're more focused on playing jealousy politics.
English

@RecursiveChange @Samcarrollhull @OliDugmore No I don’t believe he should, I believe there should be more rigid legislation in place to allow the state to tax him on the value of his stock
English

@cona674 @Samcarrollhull @OliDugmore back to your original comment.
Should he now sell 50% of his stake to can force himself to pay taxes, and in the process given up control to the usual short-sighted wall street banking types which will severely hamstring the R&D effort
Or should he see the mission through?
English

@RecursiveChange @Samcarrollhull @OliDugmore “I was really looking forward to finally spending some time together, with just fun as the agenda”

English

@cona674 @Samcarrollhull @OliDugmore You think a professional financier and somebody who required vast investment capital have nothing to talk about professionally?
English

@RecursiveChange @Samcarrollhull @OliDugmore I hope he succeeds.
Wasn’t trying to confuse you, sorry.
English

@cona674 @Samcarrollhull @OliDugmore Say it without the double negative.
Let's be clear also. Succeeding will make him several hundred billion.
