Genuinely hadn’t realised how much this year had taken out of me. Increased workload, increased accountability pressures, budgets, staffing (or lack of it). Love my job! Love our school. But having a week breathing out has made me realise that I need to take more care of me.

It’ll be six months before everything has totally settled but if you see me out and about and looking a little different, it’s because I’m finally almost fixed after 8 months of really horrid recovery. Hooray to cast off day!!!

🧵Today was ‘cast off’ day! It’s been 8 horrid months since my accident, during which time I’ve had multiple dental procedures & surgery to try & correct the damage from the fall where I ended up losing teeth, damaging my jaw, nose & mouth as well as

@NormanSufrin @bphillipsonMP @JoshMacAlister This may actually save money. Sadly, agencies charge a fortune for agency social workers. So employing directly and also hopefully improve quality as LA’s invest in them with training and oversight.

@bphillipsonMP @JoshMacAlister More public sector workers means more public sector money to pay their wages. That leads to more borrowing. When will you realise that government spending is out of control

The number of child and family social workers in post has reached a record high, seeing the biggest drops in agency use, vacancies and turnover rates on record. @JoshMacAlister is right – we're moving in the right direction 📈 cypnow.co.uk/content/news/m…

My friend Spencer, like all of us here, has just been hit by @reformparty_uk’s @WestNorthants Council Tax increases despite @Nigel_Farage’s promises not too! 😔 This isn’t sustainable.
Spencer (Spenny) Tear@spenniy

I firmly believe that living in the #UK is becoming unsustainable for many. It’s a bankrupt country. There are too-few people to haul the heavy locomotive and quite frankly I’m fed up of being one of those people. Something has got to change. #CouncilTax #Tax

@Wendell7272 @abidh247 @bmay Nor can you try and gaslight people. Local candidates referring to cutting council wastage to cut taxes in a local election, by inference is council tax!!! 🤦🏼‍♂️

@abidh247 @covrules @bmay Er, not sure what you’re banging on about here. No one has in any way alleged that reform councillors are anything but Reform councillors. Not once have any of them said they will reduce council tax! You can’t just make up things & put words in peoples mouths when it suits you.

@Wendell7272 @bmay What part of “reduce council waste to cut your taxes” isn’t referring to council/local? Cutting council waste isn’t going to help reduce national taxation. Stop trying to gaslight

@covrules @bmay These were national leaflets and many local charges are viewed as taxes. Nowhere on any documentation does it state council tax. Your interpretation is up to you. Facts and language matter

@SkyNews @BethRigby Here are leaflets from west Northants council elections in 2025. They pledge to cut waste and taxes. They’ve just voted to increase our council tax by 4.95%, increased green waste collection charges, scrapped 2 hrs of free parking (including for disabled drivers).

@covrules @SwailesRuth @rob_kelsall We raised concerns during the inspection and I also had a follow up call with a senior HMI pre-draft. We decided not to complain formally but challenged aspects in factual accuracy. However, the evidence we presented was simply put aside

Our Ofsted report has been published today. Whilst I am incredibly proud of Yew Tree, I am hugely disappointed with the process. Different framework but it’s the same issues as before!
Yew Tree Primary School@YewTreeSandwell

Further to our inspection in January, our report & an accompanying letter is available on our website: yewtreeprimary.co.uk/inspection-rep… As Ofsted has changed how they grade schools, which is not comparable to the previous framework, please watch this video: youtube.com/watch?v=kbl0Fv…

@SwailesRuth @rob_kelsall Thanks. It wouldn’t be so bad if it was fair. However, as an example, we were told attendance and behaviour couldn’t be strong as attendance wasn’t above national. When I pointed out that it was, and actually has been for the past three consecutive years, that was ignored.

As Europeans, we often argue with our British friends, and we will keep doing so. But one thing is certain: we recognize, and will always recognize, the strength and dignity of the UK. Criticism comes easily when a country refuses to act like a vassal. Respect to Britain 🇬🇧🇪🇺
