I know for many, after a long week of trading, it takes real motivation to sit down and analyse it all. If you’ve done well, you might tell yourself “why bother?”. If you’ve done badly, you might think: “I can’t bear re-living all my mistakes, I’ll just try harder next week” without any solid plan of exactly what you’re going to work on and importantly, how to improve on it. You have to fight these thoughts to consistently elevate performance. I’ve tweeted this review process many times. Remember: curiosity is the foundation for improvement.

Trading Personalities Number 2: The Air Traffic Controllers As a High Performance Coach in the trading world, I’ve worked with traders from diverse backgrounds and market sectors. A key tool I use is the Risk Type Compass, which helps identify trader’s ‘Risk Personality’. No single personality type is inherently more successful; each has behavioral strengths and weaknesses that can be advantageous in specific contexts. Success in trading comes is more likely if a trader is well aligned with their risk personality. This way they can more effectively leverage personal edges connected to personality traits. However, each risk personality also has vulnerabilities—traits that can undermine success. This week, I introduce the ‘Air Traffic Controllers’ group. I call them this as during an assessment of Air Traffic Controllers, 80% fell into this category. The Air Traffic Controller traders are characterized by steadiness, reliability, deliberate approaches and a preference for facts and data. They’re comfortable with risk when they have evidence rather than following intuition. While intuition naturally influences decision-making, these traders prefer corroborated evidence, but means they can sometimes be slow to act/react. They thrive in rule-based, systematic environments—preferably using thoroughly tested, verified systems—rather than intuitive highly discretionary methods. They’re highly disciplined, conscientious, and practical, typically avoiding very short-term trading unless it’s driven by a well-established system. In institutional settings, these traders might manage portfolios using long-short or relative value strategies, and prefer a broad perspective as opposed to being caught up in the market noise. Their methodical approach plays to their strengths, allowing them to stay disciplined and structured, and less reactive to market emotions. However, this reliance on structure can limit their responsiveness to market signals. Market noise can sometimes carry valuable insights—clues that, if recognized and interpreted swiftly, provide an edge. By dismissing or mistrusting intuitive impressions and market ‘rumblings,’ they risk missing out on lucrative opportunities or holding trades too long. Performance can improve if they become more open to new ideas and adapt more quickly. Resistance to change is common—yet, in a fast-evolving environment, hesitation often costs opportunities. An Example: A few years ago, we worked with a group of senior traders at a hedge fund who we found were predominantly ‘Air Traffic Controller’ types. They had told us of an incident where they had a significant market opportunity based on an in-depth analysis report. Despite this, they spent weeks verifying the data instead of acting promptly. By the time they revalidated the information, market movements had already shifted. Their delay prevented early entry, causing them to miss a substantial profit. In sum, understanding and leveraging their strengths—discipline, thoroughness, analytical rigor—while cultivating agility and openness to market signals, can significantly enhance the Air Traffic Controller types chances of trading successfully.

Trading Personalities Number 1 - The Auditors In my work as a coach, I use a brilliant tool called the Risk Type Compass, which defines traders by 8 different Risk Personality Types. I’ll be writing several posts on these themes over the next few weeks. Understanding your risk personality and how it affects you in trading can reveal a lot about how you trade, where your personality can be a strengths are and how you can better leverage it, and where your personality can be a weakness of an inhibitor. I’ve discovered many amazing insights in more than a decade using this tool in my coaching work. For example, there is a group of types that need lots of evidence and data before acting. I use to them the accountants, but now found the term auditors to be more precise, since some accountants are happy to bend the rules, whereas auditors rarely do. This type like to work in very a disciplined and structured way. These traders are often drawn towards systematic trading styles, where they can be straight-jacketed and not reacting (theoretically at least) to emotional signals. They’ll therefore put lots of energy building systems and testing them, working systematically or taking the systems of others in order to trade, because they prefer not to trade on whims. The challenges for them is their threshold for evidence of a positive outcome is so high, they’ll often finding themselves distrusting (which is an emotional aspect) the system, EVEN when they built it. A methodological approach is high amongst this group, but also at the extreme end of that comes Perfectionism and thus this leads often to Procrastination. These lot will be often paralysed by over-analyses, and stifled by the need to have analysis which can be explained in order to be trusted. Whereas feelings which can provide strong early clues as to where markets may be heading or ideas could be valid, are wholly ignored and distrusted. - This is one of the main challenges of this type. More posts on Trading Personality to come. There are many highly successful traders amongst all types, including the auditor type. - Those of the Auditor type that do well, tend to follow strongly systematic process (that’s their sweet spot). They l are less good on design (as they rarely have the degrees of creativity needed - unlike the architect/artist type), so they’ll often imitate or adopt, but will then adapt and improve them. - They also learn to lower their barriers on perfection and accept the inherent uncertainty of markets and that perfection is not possible, but do retain strong rules and guidelines and are often process driven, which can be very helpful of course.

There’s nothing quite like witnessing an Elliott wave trader transition to full range trading, only to scrutinize every facet of their previous strategies and ultimately basterdize range trading and fucking it up furthermore in the process. It’s not the system It’s the individual

The mid cap northstars of AI are Paal/0x0. Multi bill mcs otw. That said : Sold projects mixing depin/ai/privacy all together will make lil bro runs to Paal/0x0 levels (300-400mc). Thus I've taken HUGE stakes in Ator and zKML as well as taken advisory roles to help guide them in growth. PRIVATIZING depin + the ability to privatize all transactions on any chain (zKML) is going to be so incredibly important to gaming and AI endless other applications in crypto. Not to mention the actual Ator hardware that enables this. Thus I am rolling hard here. By far my most bullish narrative that PAIRS with my gaming thesis.
