Why my kids are not the best thing that has ever happened to me — Media Personality Izzy Ogbeide Media personality Izzy Ogbeide has stirred widespread reactions online after sharing her personal views on motherhood, marriage, and life priorities in a video posted on her TikTok page. In the video, Ogbeide explained that while many people consider getting married and having children as life’s greatest achievements, she personally does not see it that way, saying her life has been shaped more by other defining experiences. “If I am to count the best thing I have in my life and the best decision I have taken in my life, getting married and having kids isn’t the best thing that has happened to my life” She went on to highlight other major life moments she considers more significant, including relocating from Italy, seeking asylum in the United States, and supporting her father through a serious health battle. “Removing myself from Italy is in the list, claiming asylum in the US is in the list, saving my father from d+ing from cancer is in the list. But my kids are never the best thing that has ever happened to me” Ogbeide further stated that she views herself as her greatest achievement and does not center her happiness on her children or husband. “I am the best thing that has ever happened to my life. My children are not the center of my life, they are not my happiness, my husband is not my joy, instead they are work I used my hand to put on myself and even debt” She also described children as a responsibility rather than a symbol of emotional fulfillment or success. “Kids are responsibilities. They are not blessings, they are not roses, they are not fairies, they are even investment. I take full responsibility of my children so I even blame myself for anything they do”
