New Mexico is getting nationally roasted for being home to the single biggest Medicaid fraud clown in America. DOGE dropped the massive HHS Medicaid dataset (2018–2024 claims data, now public at opendata.hhs.gov), and guess what? The highest-dollar individual provider in the ENTIRE country is a sole proprietor running operations out of a van in rural New Mexico. Billed taxpayers $76.2 MILLION over 7 years. That's ~1,006 claims per workday , every single day, no breaks, impossible for one person (or even a small crew) to actually provide services for. Physically, logistically, hilariously fraudulent. And don't forget the bonus round, a "pediatrician" operating from a residential apartment racking up 830 claims per day and ~$70M total. Treating kids faster than a drive-thru? Sure, Jan. This is what happens when Santa Fe Dems and bloated bureaucrats treat Medicaid like an unlimited ATM for grifters while real New Mexicans wait in line for actual care. Nearly half our state is on Medicaid, yet fraud like this explodes unchecked? Weak oversight, zero accountability, and our tax dollars vanishing into mystery vans.
