It is not my team, it is our country. If you feel you need an incentive to support your national team, then I honestly don't know what to say. Going by that logic, countries like Bangladesh should have no support either. Yet their fans proudly back the national team despite being ranked 181 because they love both their country and football. The same can be said for Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Tajikistan and many others across Asia. Do you think every lower-league club in Europe plays great football? Of course not. Their fans still turn up because they love the game and feel a connection to their city and club. Support is not always about success. Sometimes it is simply about belonging.

@7negiashish If this model is allowed within the next 6 months, India has a chance. Otherwise forget it. The grassroot development model is going to take at least 20 years for India to be successful. Also the corruption has to be removed from AIFF.

If FIFA decides to expand the 2030 World Cup to 64 teams, then the AFC should receive at least 11.5 qualification slots. With Asia's population, investment in football, improving competitiveness and the growing number of nations capable of competing at World Cup level, a proportional increase in AFC representation would be justified.

Seeing a lot of comments like this: Why does one sport have to die for others to succeed? Rugby Is New Zealand’s biggest sport. They didn’t have to kill rugby to qualify for the World Cup. India can be Good at Cricket AND Football Instead of hating on the one successful sport India has, learn how we can apply that success to football

Football is a Soft Power. India should invest in Football. Need to rejuvenate I League & ISL. Pool of 25 players should be handpicked and invested. Crack in the Top 10 of Asian rankings (currently we are in mid 20s in Asia itself), and sneak one time to Fifa WC. Then, we will rise up no matter what. It'll be Indian Football's '83 moment. Indian players should play in Premier League, La Liga etc. Its very much essential. Because, Football is a Soft Power.
