It is with profound sorrow that we bid farewell to Jaye Edwards, one of the last women to take to the skies in service during the World War II. She has passed away at the age of 103, and now, at last, she has returned to the endless blue horizons she loved so dearly.

I’m an animal control officer. We got a call about an aggressive dog in an alley. When I got there, I saw a huge German Shepherd mix. He was barking his head off at a group of kids. But something was off. He wasn't lungeing. He was standing in front of a dumpster. I cleared the kids out. I cautiously approached him. He stopped barking and just started whining, looking back at the dumpster. I went around him. Behind the dumpster was a tiny, emaciated tabby cat, terrified. The dog wasn't trying to attack the kids; he was protecting the cat from them. They were both homeless, both hungry, but they had each other. I didn't separate them. They both came back to the shelter in my truck. They got adopted together by a family who needed a pair of heroes. Anonymous

Now I'm two months from the wedding, and my entire bridal party is "gently suggesting" I find something more "classic." My mother-in-law offered to buy me a "proper" dress from David's Bridal. But when I put this on, I see my grandmother's garden, her stories about village celebrations, the culture she left behind when she immigrated. Yes, it's not a traditional white gown. Yes, people might whisper. But isn't a wedding dress supposed to make you feel like the truest version of yourself? I'm torn between keeping peace and keeping this dress that makes my heart sing every time I look at those embroidered birds

He didn’t have enough money. How was he supposed to turn around and tell his eight kids that he couldn’t afford to take them to the circus? Seeing what was happening, my dad reached into his pocket, pulled out a $20 bill, and dropped it on the ground. We weren’t rich by any means. My father bent down, picked up the $20 bill, tapped the man on the shoulder, and said, 'Excuse me, sir, this fell out of your pocket.' The man understood what was happening. He wasn’t being handed charity, but he gratefully accepted the help in his desperate, heartbreaking, and embarrassing situation. He looked straight into my father’s eyes, took my dad’s hand in both of his, squeezed the bill tightly, and with trembling lips and a tear streaming down his cheek, he replied, 'Thank you, sir. This really means so much to me and my family.' My father and I went back to our car and drove home. The $20 my dad gave away was what we had planned to use for our own tickets. Although we didn’t see the circus that night, we felt a joy inside us that was far greater than seeing the circus. That day, I learned the true value of giving. The Giver is greater than the Receiver. If you want to be great, greater than life itself, learn to give. Love has nothing to do with what you expect to get, only with what you expect to give—everything. The importance of giving and blessing others cannot be overstated because there is always joy in giving. Learn to make someone happy through acts of giving." ~Katharine Hepburn

None of this makes any sense. Hillary Clinton is lying about the SAVE Act and implying women are too stupid to get IDs. Are the women in the other 175 nations on earth that require voter IDs in elections too stupid to get them? This smacks of desperation. And it should make everyone suspicious of the Democrats' motives. Why are they fighting so hard to prevent simply enforcing what is already U.S. law? American elections are for Americans only. But Democrats are obviously against that election standard. Make it make sense.
