i think my best advice for producers who wanna learn sound design and create a unique sonic identity is DONT BUY PRESET PACKS throw yourself in the deep end watch hella tutorials and mess around with synths A LOT

@PAWFETISH @StackinBread33 but if you dont know how to write a song you dont know how to contextualize all the sounds you made. good songwriting will p much always be more important than sound design

@devdcrow @StackinBread33 disagree, whatever keeps you opening the daw is most important, if you like making weird noises do that, then save them and when you are ready to start making songs you will have a reserve of sounds you have crafted yourself to dig through

@StackinBread33 @devdcrow If you have an inner-monologue that can hum/generate a melody and a voice-memo recorder~ that’s all you need to start. Manifest that into reality w/whatever software/hardware you have on hand. After that, the deeper level of perspective calls for nuanced hardware.

@devdcrow Would you suggest diving into sound design first for something thinking getting into producing? Or should they learn the basics of production first?

Alysa Liu recently went viral for her Teen Vogue rant on the current bass music meta. "It's crazy that you can have artists that can just take a literal unprocessed saw wave, slap it under any viral acapella, and then just sell out every show... meanwhile you have Saka."

@devdcrow Have not been impressed with video games for a long time. Too little vision behind them. It isn't a bunch of creatives coming together to make something great, it is corporate and something more sinister. The creatives are just employees.

@devdcrow that's when you just play riddim for the rest of the set, problem solved

i feel like every dj who plays multigenre can agree that once you play 1 riddim track you enter riddim hell and everything you play afterwards just doesnt work unless you transition to a completely dif bpm

@blvksite noisia and ivy lab are primarily 170-180/85-90 bpm, thats quite a bit faster than 140-150/70-75, aka ur just reiterating what i was saying about switching bpms out of riddim
