@HexCougar i cant remember where i read it, but more and more older music 90's to 70's has been bought out from the artists. so they are also promoting and putting money into using these songs in advertising etc to get the ROI up. kind of like "priming the pump"

My current theory on why remix/edit culture is so hot right now is that the musical zeitgeist gravitates towards nostalgia when western optimism is at an all time low - when the future seems bleak, we seek comfort in familiarity.
