Older workers have less protection under fed. law and few know this bec age discrimination is rarely written about as it is widely practiced in the media. agediscriminationinemployment.com.

@EmilyRNunn I recall back in the day when a job description insisted on over 10 years experience in social media management, and it hadn’t existed that long at the time... and the applicant needed to be a recent graduate... and let’s not talk about the low pay...

@ITooAmQualified @LinkedIn LinkedIn needs to improve the process of reporting and removing job postings with illegal #agediscrimination. While @Linkedin has a way to report, @indeed does a much better job at following up and acting quickly. @LinkedInHelp could do much, much better.

So, what's it like, covering #agebias in job listings? Rather depressing, actually. When your inbox looks like: That's a typical search from @linkedin. While a few of these are not requiring a #digitalnative applicant, the majority are practicing #agediscrimination.

@DomainSushi @LinkedIn Some things you can do to combat #agebias in job listings 1) educate your company/industry about biased language, 2) point out #agebias in job postings by responding to companies/reporting job listings, 3) educate people who use the word #digitalnative to mean tech savvy.
