@Lixy_Cat @mikewhoatv Royal assent is essentially automatic. It would be unthinkable for the monarch to block legislation like this so it hasn't happened in 300 years. She has some say in legislation which directly affects her, before it is debated, but can't actually block anything.

@mikewhoatv Royal Assent has to be given by the Queen. How informed and capable of understanding the full complexity of the bill is she at age 96? Our freedoms are being signed away by our Monarch, who supports whichever government is giving her directions at the time.

I honestly can’t believe the lack of anger. The Policing Bill has passed and will soon receive Royal Assent. The UK is no longer a place where you are legally allowed to protest against the Government. Just let that sink in for a moment. Angry yet?

I’m still reeling from seeing an elected MP launch a personal attack on a highly respected scientist - presumably because he dislikes her expert analysis - and grabbing an image from a right-wing gossip blogger to do it.

@TheEvensongCup The problem I have with the Handel is that it's an entire piece in its own right. You can hardly compare it to a final amen in some responses unless you want evensong to last two hours. Very difficult round.
