As an NBA fan, I am full of anticipation for the playoffs. I think the most fascinating question is about the Spurs. Normally you can write off a young, inexperienced team from winning the finals - but if Wemby is comping GOATs ... well there are exceptions to every rule. As an aside, my MVP vote would go: Shai, Wemby, Jokic, Luka. And I say that with the knowledge that Wemby has the best per-minute stats of anyone in the L this year. Crazy work by the young fella. Healthy Wemby next year and the award is probably his to lose. Even though I think the best two players in the league are Joker and Wemby... and I would have voted Joker last year - SGA is having a crazy year. Played more games & minutes than any of them. Absurdly efficient for a guard. And OKC is the best team w/ the best record & the best +/-. So there we are. And there is probably a bigger gap between Luka & #5 than Shai & Luka. Luka has had a crazy season as well. Seems absurd he could be 4th, but I think SGA/Wemby need to be 1 & 2... and I don't think you can put Luka over Joker (if he even ends up qualifying!). I have not been buying or selling any Spurs futures. (I actually have been buying Denver & Boston real cheap in the last month imo). I filled some 8c Denver just a few days ago before they beat the Spurs. They had injury problems all year, but whaddya know... their whole team is healthy coming in to the playoffs. They are on a run. Gonna get 3rd. And they have Joker. W/ a worse team they took OKC to 7 last year. The bad news is they will likely have to play both SAS & OKC giving up HCA. That's a doozy. But 8c? LFG. Boston case is much simpler. They are the best team in the East now that Tatum is back. I was buying from 7-10c (buy that before Tatum came back). Seems like a bargain. Can always figure things out if they make the finals.

So because something is "almost" always supervised it doesn't count for the job it does 7x better than a human? Make that make sense. As someone who actively uses fsd daily I am able to not only supervise it but also all surrounding traffic on the road to a higher caliber. Let me tell you a secret, human drivers make tons of errors regularly.

Tesla self-driving saves a lot of lives – the statistics are unequivocal. That doesn’t mean it’s perfect, of course. Even when we improve safety 10X, saving 90% of the million lives lost in auto accidents every year, Tesla will still get sued for the 10% who did die. The 90% who are still alive mostly won’t even know that Tesla saved them. Nonetheless, it is the right thing to do.

@DevinOlsenn Great post. It is frustrating, but it is important to not lose sight of the amazing progress and remain patient.

I think Elon's ambitious timelines are sometimes his biggest challenge at Tesla. He promised Level 5 Full Self-Driving by 2021. Here we are in 2026, and while we don't have true Level 5 yet, FSD Supervised is undeniably the best ADAS in North America. Without the early hype, more people might appreciate how far it's come instead of just saying 'but Elon promised X.' Same with Robotaxis in Austin. Having even a single Tesla driving itself autonomously on public roads is incredible, Tesla AI deserves huge credit. But the promise of 500 Robotaxis by EOY 2025 clouds that progress for critics. I totally appreciate how optimistic Elon is about the future, I do not think we would be where we are today without that. I do just wish people could appreciate what Tesla has done today, even if it's not quite what Elon promised. My car drives itself 99% of the time, and that's just going to keep getting better with updates over time. Robotaxi's in Austin are driving themselves, and that is just going to keep scaling (even if it's a bit slower than expected) This hit me after seeing complaints about FSD 14.3 not dropping 'on time,' even though Elon said it would probably go wide by end of week. The tech is advancing fast. Let's enjoy the ride.

Also, based on the data released, you can not say shit about how safe FSD is compared to the average human driver, because the miles aren't being driven under the same conditions. Why doesn't Tesla release data that can give a better comparison?

FSD is basically done. Would love to hear more from Tesla about what the deal is with Robotaxi, because it doesn’t feel like the software should be a major bottleneck anymore at this point. Why does everyone think nothing is happening with expansion? What’s the biggest bottleneck?

@EliasMartinez @rajuvamsi007 I think his example isn’t identical but still seems at minimum visually relevant. His car was going to rip a right turn but abruptly stopped as it recognized danger. Point being maybe yours would have as well? That said I would have intervened as well.

Fsd driving % is a weird metric & it doesn't tell u the performance of fsd. I had 99.8% of fsd driving on my mini road trip but it was actually only 87 miles to a disengagement (DE) . Most of the drives with higher Hwy % didn't have DE, but fsd still makes mistakes in city driving. The drive on March 27 with 3 DE & mostly Hwy was due to 2 red wheel DE where fsd gave up on the Hwy in heavy rain. People want to assume high fsd % = unsupervised or almost ready to fully scale but fsd still makes mistakes & has limits
