@majorbaps Long term mentor (now retired) had this happen to her. She was surgical background,into EM,so MRCS.
Wearing her scrubs in resus, surgical SpR in with patient, orders her to clean up the patient, do x,y,z etc. She demurely does these tasks, then introduces herself...was wonderful.

Had my job as a Consultant Emergency Physician mansplained to me this week by a new surgical resident. How have I managed the last 14 years without his advice?

@DirkHuffa @NHSEngland So frustrating isn’t it. In addition to NHSmail problems, NUH blocked all my IT access, told me I didn’t exist on their list of current junior doctors, and sent me round the houses trying to fix it myself until HR sorted everything out. Doesn’t make you feel supported at all

I've spent my day off trying desperately to undelete my nhs.mail. I followed the leave and join process and still found it got deleted. Thankfully recovered but this is indicative of the admin hell of being a junior Dr moving trusts every 6m. @NHSEngland sort it out.

@sunil_paeds @Cooper00Nicola I think it works well but I still think overall it shouldn’t be a trainees job. Everyone on the committee is already giving up their spare time and organisation of teaching is another burden on tired and burnt out trainees. Not sure what’s best though, everyone is at capacity!

@Cooper00Nicola In the East Midlands for paeds, we have a trainee committee to undertake this. We have full support from the TPDs and it provides valuable leadership, education and management experience for trainees. And we know what curriculum items need covering 😉

The first time I saw @HewittSusie was during a first year med school lecture. Little did I know then she would go on to be a teacher, colleague, mentor and friend. Always an inspiration, I can’t thank you enough for all your guidance and love. “A cheery wave” goodbye ♥️

If you run an advice line for Primary Care
> The clinicians taking the calls - What other jobs are they doing?
>What is response rate to the call? (100%, 90%, 70%?)
> If call is missed do you phone back or expect caller to phone back?

@JacCooper1 @NadiaKamil I suppose you could use the car seat instead of the baby carrier but some kind of sling carrier would fold up small for travel.
