Spirit Airlines died tonight at the hands of the socialist crusader, Elizabeth Warren She must be so proud to add another casket to her achievements. Tonight at 3am, Spirit turns off the lights. 14,000 jobs gone. 30+ smaller airports lose service. JetBlue offered $3.8 BILLION in cash to buy Spirit in 2022. Shareholders, flight attendants union, literally everyone voted yes. The combined company would have held 9% of the US market against a Big 4 that already owned 80%. For anyone who understands numbers: 9% isn’t a monopoly against 80%. Warren said no. She wrote letters. She pressured Buttigieg. Biden’s DOJ sued. A federal judge killed the deal in January 2024. Her argument: the merger would cost consumers $1 billion a year. Now look at her collateral damage she dusts under the rug. 510 pilots gone in the months after. 1,800 flight attendants furloughed in December. 14,000 jobs in 2023. 7,500 last week. Zero tonight. And that’s just the people in Spirit uniforms. Catering goes. Fuel guys go. Baggage crews, gate agents, airport coffee shops, hotels and rental cars in 70 cities Spirit flew to. Every airline job carries 3 more on its back. 40,000 people out of work because of one woman’s moronic crusade against the market. And the math ain’t mathing. Spirit abandoned 90 routes during the death spiral. Fares on those routes are up 14% on average. Oakland to Newark: $135 to $288. Fort Myers to San Juan: $92 to $219. Kansas City to Newark up 66%. That’s reality. Not some BS number from a “study.” So @SenWarren tell me how this saves the consumer money? Cheap carriers in a market drop fares 21% across the board. Southwest did this in the 90s and saved Americans $68 BILLION over 20 years. Warren killed it. That’s what moronic politicians led by socialism do. Then with her own blind arrogance, she tweeted Spirit’s collapse is “a Biden win for flyers.” A win. 14,000 people are reading termination letters tonight. And she’s taking credit. This is socialism in 2026. A senator who’s never made payroll thinks she knows how to run a market better than the people who own and work in the company. She saved you a billion on imaginary paper. She cost you ten times that in real life. She didn’t protect consumers from anything. 14,000+ will go from working to welfare. She will make sure to blame billionaires, hardworking tax payers, AI, capitalism and whatever monster they will make up tomorrow hiding under your bed. Higher taxes. Fewer jobs. More expensive everything. She called it a win. I hope you enjoy winning.

Either they’ll tell you on the label, or they’ll lie to you on the label. The CBP import numbers and production numbers are exposed so you can forensically see how much fraud is in the industry. Whole Foods can get away with this. Rules only apply to small players. Once you can afford a bulletproof legal team you can do anything you want in the Us. There’s no rules for thee... How would you verify the origin of this extra virgin olive oil? Why would you dilute and make an EXTRA virgin product Worse with canola? See how it makes no sense.

Most consumers have no idea where their food comes from. We wager even olive oil businesses (even the owner…) don’t even know where their olive oil comes from. You’re going to get the names of all 1000 farmers? What if you have olive oil from multiple countries? This is why it’s a red flag when an American olive oil company doesn’t even speak the language from where their olive oil comes from. Red flag. We’re a broken record talking about this. FDA could shut this down by not allowing the multiple country origins on an extra virgin bottle. It’s intellectually dishonest and harmful to consumers.

After getting a lot of feedback - opted to go with @jamesonhaslam recommendation of Red Mangaris If you’re shopping for hardwoods - you should get multiple bids. I found a local lumber spot who carries Mangaris and also got a bid from their LA importer to bid the cost of the wood but they don’t have 4x4s and 2x4s in the mangaris and only offer those posts in mahogany which for entry courtyard gates I’m not super keen on mixing woods although I was assured it would look great / match I was debating paying someone to pickup and drive the wood from LA but then decided to see if Dixieline sourced mangaris. They do and their importer has all the sizes of wood in the mangaris Don’t forget to ask for a contractor discount And I found a better deal I imagine the pro desk at Home Depot can also bid a project but I’m not buying enough so didn’t bother High Janka rating. 2x as hard as Mahogany. And since we’re SW facing and affected by coastal salt air and want to avoid termites - also Mangaris is supposed to be more consistent in color and less likely to crack than ipe. I don’t have the best opinion of ipe having thought ipe furniture and it’s so hard to/ non flexible it’s prone to cracking

Did you know the diamond engagement ring tradition was created by a diamond cartel? In the 1930s and 40s, De Beers was sitting on piles of unsold diamonds from the Great Depression. Demand was weak, inventory was high, and nothing says timeless romance like excess stock. So they hired an ad agency and launched one of the most successful campaigns in modern history: “A Diamond Is Forever.” The point was not love. It was demand creation. They turned an expensive rock into the universal symbol of commitment, something men were expected to buy if they were serious. Before that, most engagements did not involve diamonds at all. Then Hollywood amplified it. Magazines followed. Celebrities flashed rings. Carat size became status, devotion, and social proof all at once. Some companies did not just sell the stones. They helped create the expectation. Build the pressure first. Sell the solution second. That is how diamond engagement rings became tradition. Romance was real. The ring was the end of the sales funnel.

Visibility jail for us still bc The X community has too high of an IQ for them to care about how small producers are changing their soil techniques to see how that affects downstream yields and has already modeled it out and priced it in. Where do consumers hang out on social media? TikTok?
Le Maniot@lemaniot

Strait of Hormuz disruption is squeezing global fertilizer flows. Yawn we know. Ok, but what are you to do when you’re a small olive oil producers like us? Urea, ammonia, phosphate all trapped. Prices moved. Spring application windows have not…as much as we wish we did agricultural experiments, we are not (see our low density traditional farming techniques below). So Here’s an example solution we deployed when resources are tight…

A special forces soldier who was involved in the capture of Venezuela' Maduro was arrested today for allegedly pocketing more than $400,000 by betting on his removal from office, @CBSNews' @NicoleSganga reports. Investigators believe the soldier bet more than $33,000 on the prediction market Polymarket. The series of bets prompted speculation and scrutiny within the prediction markets.

Some podcast listeners of mine started their own small-batch Greek olive oil company and they’ve sent me a few bottles here and there… it’s the best I’ve ever had and I’m a huge olive oil snob. Give em some love by picking up a bottle!

Wifey went shopping at Target yesterday morning and this lady walked into the store with a non-service dog. The dog takes a crap on the floor in the store. The lady continues walking like nothing happened. My wife and other customers asked the person to clean up and got ignored.
