The whole world locked down, not just Shanghai 🙄And those that didn’t let a lot of people die. “Much cleaner and safer” matters more for those who don’t have money than those who do actually, since those with money can buy their security anywhere.

I remember during the most brutal COVID lockdown, people in Shanghai were screaming in terror. So no , Shanghai doesn't cut it for me...and not to mention you can't access the outside internet easily unless you buy a VPN. However, it is great to live in Shanghai temporarily if you're a foreigner with money. It is much cleaner and safer than Toronto.

所有外资里，中国最不care的就是日资撤离。资金既不雄厚，技术也不先进，β事还贼多。只有日本右翼和自民党觉得日资撤退，中国要崩溃了。可能韩资要走了会惋惜下，日资就感紧滚出中国吧。

I agree.
Shanghai is the most developed megacity I’ve seen — more so than New York, Tokyo, or London.
I might have to reconsider if I visit Shenzhen or Hangzhou.

Walked around some old haunts today and I’m now ready to call it. If Shanghai were representative of a whole country that country would not only be first world but at the front of the pack (haven’t been to Shenzhen yet but I’m sure SZ would give SH a run calm down SZ truthers).
