@BCBrownell Wrong. We just are the only people that care about cars at all. So we obviously want them all to be great. Average drivers just buy whatever Comsumer Reports says to buy and they use it like a vacuum cleaner. Hence why most cars keep getting more and more bland and boring

@ejohnson12322 @BCBrownell A couple of reasons. “Force everyone to wait” assumes perf. variants sell in volume. They don’t. The biz case is built around the volume trims. And the development focus is always the normal car (the foundation) first. Then you add to that.

@andrewquillin @BCBrownell I agree that this is the way things have typically been done, but what about the new EV models that consistently release the top-line model first and then start marketing/producing the “mass market” version? Feels like the Type S could’ve come first if Acura wanted to do it.

@ejohnson12322 @BCBrownell That approach is practically impossible. Standard cadence is always normal car than perf. variant for a reason. And the mags did give glowing reviews of the 1.5T Integra and it is selling well.
