I’m so thrilled to receive the John Cunningham Award from @nuigalway as the top performing student on the MA Journalism programme last year. Thank you to all the fantastic lecturers at @jmcnuigalway, and to everyone who contributed to my final project about the Irish Constitution

If your car is parked in one of the public carparks in Salthill, move it!
Preparations underway in Galway ahead of #StormBarra’s arrival early Tuesday. Flooding and structural damage are expected and Galway Gardaí have warned people to “stay at home”.

Congratulations to friend and former colleague of 17 years, @s_glennon, who has been appointed Editor of @TuamHerald. Best of luck, the paper is in safe hands!

@LouiseByrneNews @Elverys @FAIWomen Yes, it’s possibly a copy and paste error.
It’s equally possible the copy was written by somebody from, say, Mayo where ‘lads’ is widely used. It’s a Mayo company.
English

@endacunningham @Elverys @FAIWomen The Irish Senior Women’s football squad is not a team of lads. It’s a cut and paste job. A mistake I’m sure that @Elverys will correct.

@RyanCroal @SPARIreland @GalwayChamber @villagesalthill @salthilljournal @SalthillGalway @Galwaybayfmnews @NuachtTG4 That wasn’t my question.
Do you believe the shop was actually charging €8.88 for a chicken fillet roll?
English

@endacunningham @SPARIreland @GalwayChamber @villagesalthill @salthilljournal @SalthillGalway @Galwaybayfmnews @NuachtTG4 They are charging it as €8.88. Hence why I said "nearly 9 euro".
English

We are all for capitalism, and supply &demand etc.. But nearly €9 for a chicken fillet roll is just taking advantage of families on holiday. The same roll can be had in the city centre for 2.99.
#SparSalthillSwindle.
Comment @SPARIreland?

A front page in a local paper is the basis for a national story on #RTE which hasn’t credited @CTribune Local media provide unique content that mostly doesn’t attract the national headlines, when it does, it deserves to be recognised. #localnewsmatters #journalism @NUJofficial

Good to see the national media picking up on this story from the Galway City @Ctribune on Friday.
Our archaic licensing laws need to be overhauled once and for all.

@miclights Galway City of Bollards. Bollards, bollards, bollards.
English

@endacunningham Not sure your point here. Do Cork co. put umbrellas up to stop people from walking on new paving or something?
That would seem odd.
English

@Mcubbard @handyout1 I’m sure I don’t need to remind you of the flawed, costly, legal advice Galway City Council has gotten on occasion on the past in relation to a number of bylaws.
English

@Mcubbard @handyout1 (A) is clearly open to interpretation. Regardless of what legal advice may or not be.
English

Technically, it would not take six months to create a designated licensed area in Galway. It would take 21 days. The three areas within Part 4 of the bylaws are broad enough to leave open to interpretation #primetime
