@Prairielander @erik_thorvalds If you adopt a defeatist or separatist mentality you give up your ability to shape the future of the country as whole. Not an accusation against you, but I find that many separatists are quite myopic and don't see the bigger picture.

The NDP have a federal leader who the provincial parties (mostly) dislike, the Conservatives have provincial parties who dislike them, and the federal Liberals have no provincial parties but continue to win federal elections.

I could see Christianity (evangelicalism) growing noticeably in Japan, but not Catholicism specifically. Japan likes western aesthetics (in a fashion that almost makes me think Anglicanism could have some meager success there marketed as “British Christianity”) but something about Catholicism seems *too* foreign and exotic for Japanese taste, perhaps it’s not Anglo-American enough or something.
