The root cause of all of this is the cheap-labor lobby that gives to both parties. Not only do they bankroll open border policies, so they can get cheap illegal labor that can’t report workplace abuses, they also bankroll DC Dims, who convince followers to protest in favor of ‘undocumented workers’, while actually protesting in favor of worker exploitation, but they’re too brainwashed to know it. Senate republicans can change their own rules with 51 votes, then fund DHS with 51 votes. Why won’t they do it? Because the cheap-labor lobby wants open borders, cheap illegal labor that can’t report workplace abuses. It’s ‘bipartisan’ tag-team. Who gains the most from open borders? I bet the cheap-labor lobby is covering drinks on the house in DC over this shutdown. Especially when senate republicans won’t change their own rules to fund DHS. And the rest of the republicans are not even whispering about senate republicans doing that to reopen DHS. It’s not hard to figure out once we start following the money.
