Also you guys might not realize it, but I hold the LSS in such high regard that my point is that putting Aerith's death after it could undermine it. This is coming from a place of "LSS is THE climax". Surely Tifa being the main support to Cloud there benefits from this?

@ffSteeD27 Also, the conundrum you are wondering about, is it your own personal feelings in regards to it and how you would like it to fit or does it match what the OG was trying to do, what the story was trying to do. These are two different things.

@The_Loony_Boy Well I'm saying the same thing. It's a conundrum because the risk to undermine the LSS if her death is pushed is still there.. It also would mean Cloud isn't *really* whole and healthy after the LSS, which he really is in the OG, because he never denied her death.

@ffSteeD27 But thats the thing, he would have to bec otherwise you're doing more harm than good to Cloud by helping him experience that trauma while in the process of healing him. That can send him spiraling even more bec hell try to forget it or suppress it again.

A lot of discussion about if Final Fantasy VII is about Cloud. The only factual answer is no. Although we spend a majority of our gameplay in Clouds life during the events of FFVII dude is in the main story for like 3months. Story is about Jenova....

@ffSteeD27 Once he does, thats when the revolution about both of their deaths need to take place bec now its the real Cloud coming to this conclusion, not a mentally broken cloud who tries to suppress it. Thats what the LSS is. The first way to fix the problem is to no longer run from it

@The_Loony_Boy But here's the catch: The OG never showed us Cloud believing he saved Aerith, Remake made a big deal out of it. So surely him realizing to begin with becomes a big plot element no? I'm not saying it HAS to be in the LSS btw, I'm presenting the dilemma.

@ffSteeD27 But it wont undermine it. Same way it wasn't undermined in the OG. We will get a revelation about her death, but the question is why do you think it does if its not done in the LSS. The LSS is a healing event for Cloud's real self, to realize who he actually is.

Always shocked at how many people think opinions on video games are worth slinging insults over. Note that not once in my video did I mention Cloud's romantic interests, or whether Aerith or Zack will be in the lifestream sequence. Literally just a guy who likes FF7 over here.

@6LEG6ION6 For me that's the climax of her journey, her knowing exactly what she wants to do. Also FWIW, the LSS COULD be interpreted as the climax of her arc, yet STILL be about Cloud first and foremost. I really don't think it should be controversial to say the LSS is about Cloud.

@ffSteeD27 No, I asked for the climax ? You described what Tifa does through her journey, not the climax of her arc ? Again, where does the "climax" of arc of her journey, doing the things you mentioned happen/pay off ? You know like Aerith's is praying for holy/her death ?

Imagine how stupid I would look if I tried to assign "importance levels" to Aerith's death ? 🫠 "Guys the scene is about Cloud, but Aerith is the most important one, followed by SephiNova" How about no ? The scene is about & literally *requires* Cloud, Aerith & SephiNova 💁‍♂️

You have idiots out here saying the LSS is not *also* about Tifa ? Are ppl like genuinely losing brain cells in real time ? 🤣 The LSS is literally the climax to both Cloud & Tifa's character arcs(shocking I know). But apparently the climax of her own arc can't be about her ?⬇️

@6LEG6ION6 For me it's her resilience to stay by Cloud's side despite not knowing the truth about him. She didn't need the truth, she just knew she wanted to be with him, and her coming to that realization meant she didn't need anything else in her journey. Now is the LSS a bonus? Ofc

Also: -Aerith's death in the story is about Cloud's perception more than herself. -Sephiroth couldn't have done 1% of what he did without Cloud. -The entire Planet Crisis boils down to Fricking Cloud. -Plot ghosts, fate and world I'll absolutely be about him too.

If I remember correctly that was pretty much right after he recovered from the LSS so his speech about remembering Aerith could lead directly into (or immediately follow) a cut scene of him recalling her death. If he remembers her death before recovery in the LSS it’s going to have to lead into “fake” Cloud losing himself.

I've also been meaning to say this: The LSS is about Cloud's identity. It means that it's not about Zack or Aerith but also NOT about Tifa either. It's about HIM. If writers decide that in Remake Cloud needs to learn all the truths he repressed to heal, it'd be consistent.

@Sesiyrus I respectfully disagree here, because for me the LSS is about Cloud *with* the help of Tifa, not about both of them. I feel that the way Hamaguchi phrased it (when Cloud discovers his identity) is how I would frame it really. Now is Tifa the key? Ofc

@ffSteeD27 Im not really saying this as a Cloti though im saying it as a lore and narrative driven enthusiast. Even if Cloud and Tifa were platonic or another pairing was canon, The Lifestream arc, and its foundation scenes and payoff would still be about Cloud AND TIFA.

@ffSteeD27 So imo you come from a place of first timer and you dont see why this would be so bad to allow rroom for others, alas when the entire VII content space has been eaten by people making every scene (specially Tifa's scenes) about Aerith and Sephiroth, it leaves scars

@QueenLolipopo That's why I said earlier that it's probably because of the initial wave of "let's bring aerith to replace Tifa in the LSS". I get that but it's also light years away from what I was saying, so I feel like saying that's my intent is a bit unfair, but it's all a video game anyway

@ffSteeD27 I think the issue here is you don't know the depths of the resentment about the Tifa erasure lol, that's why people are pretty touchy with this eagerness people have in erasing Tifa of her scenes, cause for years most content was all about making her a sub characters

@QueenLolipopo But she did acknowledge that he came for her in the mountain, so I doubt the revelation will go further than that about that sequence? Definitely it doesn't affect the outcome, where we disagree is that I think nothing can affect the outcome if it's properly executed..

@ffSteeD27 I see but even in this fragment at she has to know why he was there, something she doesn't yet given it's the crux of it all (thats kinda my vision with the remake, it can expand or add things, as long as those dont affect the outcome (in a believable way) it's faithful
