Will the NBA be the next major sports property to hand over its OTT rights to DAZN? DAZN has just launched a dedicated basketball division, bringing together its various basketball rights into a single, more marketable global product. This move strengthens DAZN’s position as a key player in basketball streaming. Currently, DAZN holds rights to: ✅ FIBA’s Courtside 1981 platform – featuring a large portion of FIBA’s global live matches via a supplementary subscription ✅ NBA and WNBA in Germany ✅ EuroLeague in Italy ✅ France’s top league (domestic rights) ✅ UK’s Super League Basketball (global rights) This setup could allow DAZN to add even more national competitions to its platform, creating a hub for basketball fans worldwide. But the real game-changer? Securing NBA League Pass for international markets. This would mirror DAZN’s strategy with NFL Game Pass, which recently saw 34% year-over-year growth. Given that success, DAZN may be looking to double down on this approach. It's worth noting that for DAZN to secure those rights from the NBA, they'd likely need a very solid MG to win that - just like they did with the NFL deal to get that across the line. Could this be the next big move for DAZN? Or will it just focus on lower tier rights consolidation for now? Read more here: sportspro.com/news/dazn-bask…
