we've been crazy impressed by the founders who entered into our kickstart hackathon 🤯 we even had founders from @toly's university apply. announcing the winner; @flypraxis! the winner will pitch investors at the superbowl of blockchain in miami, @consensus2026. additionally, we're buying $10,000 of $PRX on the open market. this is just the beginning.

Who's behind Praxis? Aabis — Aerospace engineering at UIUC. Multiple Solana hackathon wins. Built dev tooling used by thousands. Early Superteam member. Works on liquid rocket engineering in his free time. Evan — CompE at UIUC. Built a full onchain options orderbook (Anchor + TS). 2nd place on the Solana track at MBC. Works on execution on execution and low-latency trading infra. Scuba certified + pilot. Louis — Studying Engineering Mechanics. Builds hardware + software systems, from web apps to autonomous robots. Researching controls and embodied models at UIUC. Team member at Skeleton.dev.

Palantir is strongest when the data already exists. They help organizations pull messy, unstructured information into one place and turn it into decisions. That is why the same core product can serve the CIA, Wendy’s, and a hundred other completely different customers. Praxis starts earlier in the loop. We are focused on real time drone operations, where the problem extends beyond simply understanding data, but capturing it, interpreting it, and acting while the situation is still unfolding. Less “what does this dataset tell us?” and more “what is happening on the ground right now, and what should we do next?” That is the bet. We’re still super early, and a lot is being built as we speak 🥷

@jeetergriffin Definitely. There are many creative and beneficial use cases we haven't considered so we would love to hear the community's ideas!

@flypraxis Could this tech be adjusted for civilian uses, for example, search and rescue?

@JONBIDENlqkt There is an RPi onboard but since it's not powerful enough for intensive compute we are offloading to our server.

@flypraxis Do you have compute onboard the drone?

In the demo we are running YOLO along with ByteTrack, using temporal buffering and low-confidence association for short-term loss, and we’re layering in ReID + track merging to handle re-entry and deduplication. We’re still benchmarking against OC-SORT and transformer-based trackers to see what holds up best under edge constraints.

We’re 3 students at UIUC building Praxis. Post-flight footage review is too slow. Operators need to know what’s on the ground while the drone is still in the air. So we’re putting the intel on the feed itself: live object tracking, zones, and alerts in real time. The goal is to build what Lattice is for the Pentagon, for everyone Anduril doesn’t sell to. (demo coming soon 👀)
