Defense industry needs the Silicon Valley mindset, and a key part of that is design. At Praxis, we're embracing this same mindset: building with operators in mind, not just specs on paper.

Palantir is strongest when the data already exists. They help organizations pull messy, unstructured information into one place and turn it into decisions. That is why the same core product can serve the CIA, Wendy’s, and a hundred other completely different customers. Praxis starts earlier in the loop. We are focused on real time drone operations, where the problem extends beyond simply understanding data, but capturing it, interpreting it, and acting while the situation is still unfolding. Less “what does this dataset tell us?” and more “what is happening on the ground right now, and what should we do next?” That is the bet. We’re still super early, and a lot is being built as we speak 🥷

@jeetergriffin Definitely. There are many creative and beneficial use cases we haven't considered so we would love to hear the community's ideas!

@JONBIDENlqkt There is an RPi onboard but since it's not powerful enough for intensive compute we are offloading to our server.

@flypraxis Do you have compute onboard the drone?

In the demo we are running YOLO along with ByteTrack, using temporal buffering and low-confidence association for short-term loss, and we’re layering in ReID + track merging to handle re-entry and deduplication. We’re still benchmarking against OC-SORT and transformer-based trackers to see what holds up best under edge constraints.

We’re 3 students at UIUC building Praxis. Post-flight footage review is too slow. Operators need to know what’s on the ground while the drone is still in the air. So we’re putting the intel on the feed itself: live object tracking, zones, and alerts in real time. The goal is to build what Lattice is for the Pentagon, for everyone Anduril doesn’t sell to. (demo coming soon 👀)
