@accountingetc 1/Not really because it's a silly system that gives pensioners disproportionate increases if inflation and national average earnings fluctuate differently. If we linked pensions to national average earnings then pensioners wouldn't be made poorer any more than anyone else.

The triple lock is not an act of generosity, it is not extravagant, it is not unaffordable.
It is a simple measure that ensures pensioners are not made purposely poorer by the government of the day.
This is a deeply moral issue, not a financial one.
